My pick- Han Solo. A rogue but a lovable rogue who does the right thing in the end. Willing to lay his life on the line for his friends. Plus he has a cool spaceship and even cooler sidekick.

Luke all the way. Single handed drops AT-AT's, fights Vader twice and lives, doesn't get frozen in carbonite, family burned alive and doesn't even cry.
