Has anybody used iCheckmovies?
I just found out about it and have been logging movies for hours on it now. It's pretty much exactly what I wanted in a website for having a checklist of all movies you've seen, and you can compare them against all sorts of lists, such as Criterion, Ebert's Great Movies, AFI, etc.
Great way for me to set up checklists. Damn, so much to see.

Beware. Some of the "Brief Encounters" will scar you for life. There's also some freaky porn going in in Amos Vogel's list too.
But I do have to thank that site for discovering some newfound gems:
MovieSense 101
Adam's Apples
Boy A
New Cult Canon
Irma Vep
Soy Cuba
Troll 2
Bitter Moon
Head On
Stuck (Weak finale, though)
100 Animated Films
Persepolis
Sita Sings the Blues
Spiritually Significant
The Gospel According to St. Matthew
Winter Light
The Apostle
Papurika
Top 500 Horror
Twins of Evil
Dagon
El día de la bestia
Tourist Trap
La maldición de la Llorona
100 Essential Westerns
The Naked Spur
The Big Country/The Bravados (Along with Yellow Sky, I've loved nearly every Gregory Peck Western I've seen)
100 Silent Films
Seven Chances
Der müde Tod
Cops
Tabu: A Story of the South Seas
Venice Film Festival
The Rickshaw Man
Essential Cult Movies
Dead Man's Shoes
The Hill
Ne le dis à personne
The Ninth Configuration
Too Late the Hero
Top 100 Animated Features
The Plague Dogs
Aint Nobody's Blues But My Own (Weird list)
Dream of a Rarebit Fiend
The Landlord
On Borrowed Time
Pola X
Summer of '42
Rotten Tomatoes
Mr. Death: The Rise and Fall of Fred A....
Pray the Devil Back to Hell
Palme d'Or
Scarecrow
Friendly Persuasion
250 Noir (I'm currently doing some checking on this list)
Call Northside 777
Crime Wave
The Hitch-Hiker
Jeopardy
99 River Street
Odds Against Tomorrow
On Dangerous Ground
The Stranger
Where Danger Lives
Deuce
The Chinese Boxer
Spaghetti Westerns
Bandidos (A lot of great ones listed there, but this was (So far) the only one I never heard of and liked)
I don't even bother keeping up with the IMDB categories (They change every week....Plus the 70's category is infamous for it's "Turkish Mafia" invasion) but I have to thank those categories for introducing me to the likes of:
Come and See
A Matter of Life and Death
The Phantom Carriage
Dear Zachary: A Letter to a Son About His Father
The Adventures of Prince Achmed
Fury
Joyeux Noël
The Band Wagon

I was looking for that but couldn't find it, might be a premium thing. On that note though, you can import IMDB ratings to the site.

Anyways, I love ICM - it's an awesome way to track your progress on lists and to find really good, overlooked films. Just don't fall into the trap I did - I got to a point where I only wanted to watch a movie if it was on an official list, so I kind of had to force myself to reduce my usage of the site a bit.

This is the kind of thing I should never download, because my OCD will take over and I'll spend a month trying to remember every damn film I've seen.

Re: Has anybody used iCheckmovies?
In the filter box, type year:2012 (or whichever year you are looking for), and that will list that year's films. Then you can order the list however you want, such as the "in # official top lists" or even just "checked" options, which seem to work well enough for me. I also found that adding a mediatype:movie filter helps shrink the list quite a bit.

They don't update instantly (every 15 minutes I think), checking them will put them in your "main" profile or whatever it's called.

Re: Has anybody used iCheckmovies?
Yeah it takes awhile for things to be updated. About 3 or 4 days untill your awards start showing up.

Oh snap. I'm still on Free too. Shucks.
There are a few members here that are also in ICM. I know of Mister Peepers, MinLshaw and another I can't remember....Edit-Trevor?

I'll create one later tonight.
Should I just call it "DVD Talk"? "DVD Talk Forums"? Something pretentious?
