SOUTHLAND renewed for 5th season
The lawmen and women of Southland will stay on duty for a fifth season, TNT announced on Friday — while NBC, in a corner somewhere, quietly wept.
“Season after season, critics and fans alike have championed TNT’s Southland as one of television’s best dramas. This year, the show has not only solidified its impassioned fan base, but also picked up some new young-adult devotees along the way,” Michael Wright, president and head of programming for TNT, TBS, said in a statement.

It's only 10 again. The studio and producers tried to get 13, but I guess TNT wouldn't budge. I'm guessing the ratings are good, but not good enough for an extended order.
Bummer that it's not returning until February.
Anyways, who would have thought this once cancelled show would make it to a season 5.

I don't remember seeing anything about her acting on this show that somehow makes her less than the rest of the cast. I don't watch the show for her, but the only person I can say I watch the show for is Michael Cudlitz (Ofc John Cooper). But the whole cast does a good job.

Anyone in this forum who didn't give this show a shot because you assumed it was another boring Cop show, is sorely missing it.
I agree with Gunde 100%
Warner Brothers needs to get their act together and get these out on DVD (I'm not counting on a BD release). Season 1 already has a DVD release, but 2 is MOD and 3 was never released.
I'm guessing that season 1 sold poorly, but I think they are really underestimating the demand and fanbase for the show now.

Southland (TNT) -- Season 5 News
Season 5 starts February 13th, but some news has transpired in the offseason.
http://tvline.com/2012/11/28/chad-mi...land-season-5/
Chad Michael Murray has been cast as new cop. He will be a recurring guest star. His character's last name is Mendoza...

C. Thomas Howell (Dewey) has been promoted to series regular.
Also, if you have been patiently waiting for a DVD set for seasons 2-4, it's finally coming out February 5. It will be one set for all 3 seasons. Pre-order price is a little high though. I'm sure it will be cheaper closer to release time.

Best cop show since The Shield. Though we'll never know how Boomtown would have progressed.
Either way, can't wait for the premiere.

Fucking great show. Screw the Emmy's for continuing to ignore it.
