05 In The A [ft. T.I. & Ludacris]
06 She Hates Me [ft. Kid Cudi]
07 CPU [ft. Phantogram]

I think there is a video and several audio songs online somewhere. Hopefully someone can tack them onto the thread.

Looking forward to it. Seems like this is as close to another Outkast album as we'll likely see.

No doubt - I thought his last album was very underrated/slept on. I loved it and can't wait for this one. Only song I've heard so far is Gossip, which I liked a lot.

It's really a shame, too. If Andre 3000 wants to be an actor, that's fine. There's still plenty of time to get in the lab for several months with Big Boi and knock out another Outkast classic LP.

You can hear tracks 9, 10 and 16 by clicking the link below. It's an interview with Big Boi at Pitchfork.

Holy shit. Two Phantogram tracks and a song with Wavves?

Fuck yes!

From a recent interview, 3000 just doesn't have a love for making music anymore. Said something to the effect of when he guest stars on someone elses track, the only thing he's thinking about is not screwing it up.

Re: Big Boi (of Outkast) - Vicious Lies & Dangerous Rumors (2012)

Big Boi sure has been prolific. I loved Sir Lucious Left Foot and it seems like it just came out. I'm excited about this new album, looks like he's teaming up with a lot of classic MCs who have guested on his songs before; and I'm interested to see what he does with Little Dragon.

My first listen of this album today was extremely disappointing. Its just too...I don't know...melancholy? Maybe I'm just comparing it to the last one too much, which I thought was basically a classic.

I'll have to give it another chance tomorrow.

Is it streaming on a website somewhere or you talking about a leak?

for those who like the band Phantogram, they are used so well on 3 tracks on this incredibly eclectic record.

good stuff

I think Lines should've been a single.

As for the album, I can see how people that just wanna hear Big Boi rap to club bangers etc will be very disappointed in this record.

The track "In the A" with T.I. and Ludacris almost seems out of place on this album.

Yeah, I am really digging it, I think has a lot more depth than Sir Lucious Left Foot, and it's interesting to listen to the unique marriage of hip hop lyrics with electronica melodies. It may take a few listens to fully appreciate it, but I think it's shaping up to be a great album.

I agree that "In the A" seems a bit out of place with the rest of the album, and is probably my least favorite track right now.

Re: Big Boi (of Outkast) - Vicious Lies & Dangerous Rumors (2012)

Big Boi performed "Mama Told Me" with Little Dragon on Jimmmy Fallon. The link I am posting also has the original studio version of the song with Little Dragon.

Because of a label dispute, the album version features that Destiny Child woman that no one cares about.

Sorry, I'm not sure how to embed all of this.

The album is available in stores now.

Here is a link to a half dozen reviews or so at Meta Critic. I'm sure more will be added.

Liked it so far. Is it strange or very Outkast that the collaborations with indie darlings Phantogram and Little Dragon are the ones that worked out for the best?

Re: Big Boi (of Outkast) - Vicious Lies & Dangerous Rumors (2012)

Awesome, I'm really enjoying it so far. I agree that the collaborations with Phantogram and Little Dragon are the highlights of the album, and I wish we had the lady from Little Dragon doing the vocals on Mama Told Me. The music is so Little Dragon-esque, it feels weird hearing Kelly Rowland do the chorus. But yeah, the fusion of the two genres are working really well for me.
