The Biggest Loser for 2013 will be...

Re: The Biggest Loser for 2013 will be...
A fair number of those will be losers, but it's hard to know which will be the "biggest" loser without knowing what their respective budgets are.

Is the criteria for "biggest loser" simply lowest gross? Because lower budget films are at a disadvantage then; a low-budget film on the list could have the lowest gross, but still be considered a success, while a higher budget film may have a high gross, but not one that's big enough to recoup its budget.

^I've always loved the Lone Ranger -- my Dad raised me on the old radio shows, I even saw that crappy '81 movie in theaters back when I was 10 -- but this looks too... revisiony for my tastes. I'll still probably end up seeing it. I'm a sucker anything Lone Ranger and Zorro. But yeah, I don't think it will connect with audiences, and given that the film's budget has ballooned again ($250m at last count?), we're looking at Dresden.

I say The Gangster Squad
The Lone Ranger could be a big bomb also...too many people just won't accept anyone but Klinton Spilsbury in the role.

I was going to say Riddick, but it looks like it only has a $38M budget. The Hansel & Gretel budget is $60M, so I'm going with that one instead. The trailer is just awful.

Have to? Wtf? You got some kind of vice on your dick that will obliterate it to that place in the sky or underground if you don't watch every western released?

I'm a big western fan and they just don't make enough of them anymore. Although, to be honest, I've actually missed some in recent years. There was one with Guy Pearce shot in Australia that I skipped and that indie wagon train movie with Michelle Williams that I avoided. But I would prefer to see every western that comes out.

No wonder I forgot the title. No self-respecting western has a title like "The Proposition." It sounds more like a romantic comedy. Can you imagine John Wayne or Randolph Scott or Roy Rogers appearing in something called "The Proposition"?

And in case you don't believe either of those to be a "self-respecting western," She Wore a Yellow Ribbon is a classic Ford-Wayne Western and yeah...not exactly The Shootist in terms of masculine titles.

Because Rainbow Valley and The Gay Ranchero are manly man titles and one should only seek out the most manly titled Westerns.

The Proposition sounds lifeless. At least The Gay Ranchero is something that upon hearing the title, I want to see it now.
