I'm surprised it took 8 years to have some of those dog puns. On the flipside...I cant believe this show subjected itself to using a dog. Unreal.

Victoria making that demand of Ted didn't really make much sense because the 3 have had very little interaction.

This show is really limping to the end here.
And the whole demand was ridiculous to begin with. Yes, I get that Victoria will always be a little concerned about the relationship with Ted and Robin. But why does she bring it up when Ted proposes? The beginning of the episode was all about how she wanted Ted to make a big move in the relationship... wouldn't she want to address his relationship with Robin BEFORE throwing hints that she wants him to propose?
It's too bad really. She was a dime back in the first season. Season one Victoria is my favorite of Ted's girlfriends.

Victoria still looks fine to me.
Can't believe how much weight Jason Segal lost. He looked gaunt in this episode.

Someone did. I can't remember who. Point is they're recycling their own plots. The writers are creatively bankrupt at this point. They have reached that final season of Friends level of desperate grasping at straws for stories.

The problem with the Victoria (and the Nick) story lines is that there was no set up. They should have shown the couples all interacting in happier times over the summer

Lily and Marshall have become almost unbearable to me this season. It's like the writers can't figure out how to make 'married with a kid' interesting so they're throwing all this weird crap out there to give them something to do.
Announcing ahead of time that all the new couples were doomed accomplished nothing except killing any interest in their respective plotlines. We assumed as much based on the show's high 'girlfriend/boyfriend' turnover rate, but to confirm it at the beginning of the season only makes it that much easier for the viewers to avoid any sort of attachment to the characters and, as a result, their storylines with the leads. I know it's one of the show's gimmicks to tease future events, but they used to be craftier at doing so in a twisty way that built intrigue to the event instead of merely spoiling future plot points for no discernible gain.

Finally watched it. I'm a big fan, most of the time like the episodes, so I don't think it was too bad, but I agree with most opinions here.
I really hope they end the show this season, everyone seems ready to go do another thing.

"when a girl jumps in your car in a wedding dress you can't act surprised to find out that she wants to get married"
I don't know, if some girl ditched her fiance on the wedding day to get in my car I'd figure she didn't want to get married or tied down with strong commitment. Otherwise she wouldn't have bailed on her wedding
