LOL I caught it and told my wife and had to rewind it for her like 5 times before she recognized him.

I like how Castle said something to the effect of "oh how far he's fallen" or something after he ran off.

That was awesome. Total tribute to science fiction fans and geeks.

at the Jonathan Frakes cameo. It was a total blink and you would miss him thing.

at Castle's comment about that Joss Whedon show. And I loved hearing Bill Shatner singing at the end.

Considering how dark last week's episode was, it was nice to have a fun and quirky episode.

This was my favorite ep of the show for all the reasons mentioned above.

BTW if you haven't heard the Shatner it's called "Has Been" and is fantastic.

It may have been a great episode for geeks, but it didn't do so well for the public at large. According to TVLine, Castle ratings were a series low.

The ratings IMO don't matter. As long as the numbers are somewhat respectable, Castle will stay on the air as it's one of ABC's most popular shows. As you are probably aware, 3 popular shows air in that timeslot. Chances are, most people DVR'd it and will watch it On Demand. Not many people can record multiple shows in 1 timeslot.

I don't know if 1.9 is considered respectable or not but maybe Castle would do better on another night? I hope it gets more seasons, it's my favorite network show. This show was a hell of a lot of fun especially the end. And Alexis....damn!

This was such a great episode! I loved Castle's Kirt impression when he and Beckett were talking about the phaser, and his Picard impression when he was sitting in the Captain's chair.

Looking at the viewership on wikipedia, Castle seems to have a floor of 10 million viewers per episode. Last week was dark, this week was hammy, hopefully next week the show is back to hitting its stride.

I enjoyed this week's show and last's, by the way, but "Murder, He Wrote" was a lot more fun, and coincidentally an extra 900,000 people watched it over "The Final Frontier".
