The first time I tried 3 was about when U7 came out and it was too archaic for me to get into back then . U4 is about my limit for the old Ultimas.

Ultima 3 Exodus is still one of my all time favorite rpgs(as is 4 & 6)..but I could not imagine playing 1 and 2 now.

I should mention that I've already played 5-8 (not long after they first came out), and just wanted to go back to the series for completionist sake. I know 4 is supposed to be a classic in it's own right, I've heard pretty terrible things about 1 and 2 upon revisit by other players though. Should be interesting

I loved Ultima 2 back in the day, but there's no way it would hold up now. The whole thing was epic and ambitious, as you got a spaceship, traveled to different planets, etc.

I'd Kickstart reboots of these games, with or without Lord British.
