The words "series finale" belong nowhere near this superior show.

Damnit, I am going to miss this thing.

Can't wait to watch Peter go medieval on the Baldies.

I remember listening to those lame radio promos for the Fringe pilot back in the day, and how unremarkable the first 10 or so eps were, now on Fridays I literally look forward to it as much as the weekend.

I totally agree...I almost gave up after drudging through the first half of season one. Beyond glad that I stuck with it. This show is amazing. I've said it before and I'll say it again, I fully trust the writing staff for Fringe.

What an episode. My wife described it as emotionally draining, and I agree. Really great performances all around.

Well, everything ends eventually. Thankfully, Fringe is going out more or less on it's own terms, and so far, it's sure ending with a bang.

Did they change time by destroying the warm hole? I don't think the resit posters were there before.

I mean, I'm sure they fucked them up with dark matter in the warm hole. It's just, you know, they just sent a new package back in time at a later day.

On the flip side, with this "origin story" episode title and Peter getting a power up... What if Peter is the first observer and the scientific team that came back tried to erase his existence so that this would never happen?

Ahhhh you are right. Since it is time travel we are dealing with it could have taken 20 years as far as we know.

If the writers could bundle the entire series into that neat little package they deserve a Pulitzer. Still have to configure that thesis with a satisfactory happy ending.

Re: Fringe -- "An Origin Story" -- 11/02/12

Unfortunately that also puts you in the loop without a beginning. Peter is the first observer, but there couldn't have been observers before Peter so how could he be the first observer? Unless of course he changes the course of observers by being the first one instead of who was actually the first one...

and this is why I hate time travel.

Re: Fringe -- "An Origin Story" -- 11/02/12

The previews for next week look fucking insane!

There's an easy answer behind the wormhole destruction thing. Sure, they could've have caused a ton of damage in the future. It could've taken them years to recover. But since it is the future, they could send the items back nearly right after the previous shipment, making it seem like the attack had no effect.

Re: Fringe -- "An Origin Story" -- 11/02/12

Or, since they were in the future, and the attack was the from the past, they were expecting it because it was known history.

Back to the future, that's the best formula you can use.

I mean, alternate timelines.

But yeah, it seems Peter is going to be like Neo at the end of the first Matrix.

That was one incredible episode. Peter has always been my favorite character on the show and that might have been his best moment in its run.

There is nothing wrong with going out on top--ala The Wire. The Sopranos way overstayed its welcome.

I agree. This was Peter's best episode in my opinion. Just an amazing performance.

I would've destroyed Etta's warm hole so she could not resit.
