The Lonely Wild
Has anyone else heard of this band? I saw them open for The Love Language and Hospitality at a venue here in Nashville this past March, and they absolutely blew me away. I have been wearing out their EP ever since that night. I see them having elements from bands like Beirut, The Civil Wars, Delta Spirit, and Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeroes. Some of their stuff seems like it would be at home in a spaghetti western film. From what I gather, they should have a full length coming out sometime next year.
My favorite song from their Dead End EP:

Update: Debut album, "The Sun As It Comes" due out April 2, 2013.
American Songwriter debuted the album stream today, and I have to say it is sounding really great so far. I'm loving the build up on the title track.
From American Songwriter:
"With their debut album, The Lonely Wild set up camp somewhere between Bruce Springsteen and Ennio Morricone, occupying that rarely-visited place where mariachi horns, four-on-the-floor percussion, vocal harmonies and rafter-reaching rock & roll all intersect. It’s an anthemic sound — equal parts western, southern and something not quite defined by geographic adjectives — and it’s bottled into the twelve songs that comprise The Sun As It Comes, an anthemic album recorded in six days."

No problem! I've been following them pretty closely since last year, and I'm happy to see their full length didn't disappoint me. I'm going to have check out their live performance again when they come through Nashville in May. The sold out Jim James show that I didn't get tickets to is the same night, so this is a nice alternative.

Check out He's My Brother, She's My Sister http://www.amazon.com/Nobody-Dances-...4387939&sr=8-1
One of the best opening acts I've seen in years. Been following them since I saw them 2 years ago.

I'm a big fan of theirs! I caught one of their shows last November, and it was a blast! I think the lady on the drums is just the coolest thing. I unfortunately missed their show here earlier this month. They seem to really like Nashville since they have been here four times since last May, which started with them opening for Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeroes. You just reminded me that I finally need to pick up their album.

Re: The Lonely Wild
Thought I would update since it's been a few months since the album was released. I picked up their album on vinyl, and after many, many listens, this is probably going to be my album of the year along with the new album from The National. I love that this album is such a great listen from start to finish. "Keep Us Whole" sounds like something Tarantino would probably use in a movie. My favorites keep changing, which is always a sign of great album for me. I was lucky enough to see The National this past Sunday, and now I get to see The Lonely Wild open up for Phosphorescent this Sunday, so it's a pretty great month of music. I'm hoping to get my vinyl signed at the show. Has anyone else had a chance to check this out?

For anyone who is interested, their new album "Chasing White Light" comes out today. I've listened to it a few times this week via the preview stream, and it's a great evolution from their first album. It was recorded and mixed straight to tape which keeps it from sounds over-produced. If you want to sample this album, the standout tracks for me are "Running", "Chasing White Light" and "Into Their Mouths."
