Better than the last two, but just barely.

Can someone please refresh me?

When/why did Lily & Marshall leave the house and come back to the apartment?

Re: How I Met Your Mother -- "Nannies" -- 10/08/12

This show is so bad it brings me to tears. I just want Lily and Marshall to suffer some horrific accident and be gone. (And wouldn't care if Ted & Robin were with them.)

I have no idea why I can't/haven't taken it off DVR. I guess it proves how truly lazy/brainwashed I am.

Right before the season finale, in order for Ted to completely move on from Robin he had to remove everything that reminded him of her. Marshall and Lily were miserable in the house being far away.

Thus Ted took Quinn's old apartment and gave his to Marshall and Lily as a gift.

I hate to be so negative, but I don't even look forward to watching this anymore. I honestly don't even understand the point of anything in this episode. Are we supposed to care about the "Spring of breakup" or whatever? Robin and Ted's relationships have been so back burnered, I honestly have a negative amount of intrest in whats happening with either one of them. And even the great Barney is lame. Was that supposed to be a Boston accent when he was a cop? In New York?

If this was a new series, it would be cancelled before the next episode even airs. As a diehard fan of the series, I just hope we get closure on the mom before the plug gets pulled early.

There's no worry of that. The bigger issue may be that CBS wants it to keep going because of the ratings it pulls, and the creators feel obliged to keep that money coming in. I think all else being equal, they want the show being wrapped up.

Re: How I Met Your Mother -- "Nannies" -- 10/08/12

I struggled through this episode. Pretty bad. I hope this is the final season too. If they plan on dragging this out past this season when Marshall and Lily leave, I hope they reveal the mother first. Wrap up the 'mother' stuff and then if they want to keep it going, have next season be about Ted and the mother. This way, if it sucks, I won't feel obligated to watch. Or maybe, just maybe it'll be as good as the Med School season of Scrubs was.

Not a fan of Lily's father. How many times do they need to remind us that he's really not all that bad of a father? I feel this is the third episode that revolves around the same idea.

This is also the third time they're pulling the story of Barney trying to get over a girl by sleeping with as many women as he can. First Robin, then Norah and now Quinn.

Still, I liked the nanny stuff because it reminded me of all the hot nannies I see walking around everyday.

This wasn't a bad episode. It wasn't great, but this was a pretty good HIMYM. Not enough Victoria, though.

Very meh.

Was the older nanny the chick from Dear John? She looked familiar.

Read this thread before watching the episode, expected the worse. I actually liked it. I mean it's classic HIMYM stuff.
But yeah, I really hope this is the last season.

I'm gonna stick with it through this season. But if it gets a renewal I'll skip to the part where the mother is revealed and be done with it.

Can anyone fill me in on what happened after the English nanny returns after getting paid by Barney? The game was prempted in Houston because of the Texan's football game. It aired at some ridiculous hour but my DVR didn't catch it all.

Re: How I Met Your Mother -- "Nannies" -- 10/08/12

Lily and Marshall fall asleep. Lily's father steps in and takes care of Baby Marvin. We find that Lily's father was a pretty good dad before he became a gambling addict.

Barney has the British nanny stop him from using tired old lines. She asks him why he's going out with these young women. We close with Barney and the British nanny in bed.

If you skip all the episodes Braff is in it's halfway decent.

Yeah pretty much this. It started off slow but once Braff was gone for good it picked up. I thought the last half of that season was very good.

Not one laugh. I use to really like this show and care about the characters. Now its so bad, that its painful to watch even as a backround show.
