Burn marks on discs?
Hey guys, bought a couple of used discs the other day, and I noticed that there is what can be described as burn marks on the edge of the reflective layer on double-sided discs.

tinypic.com/view.php?pic=2hmoe0y&s=6 <- and here.
I've never noticed this before, but I went through some of my collection and noticed that there are two-three other discs that look like this. It seems to only be on double-sided discs. Anyone else have any discs like this? The menu screen comes up when I put the dvds in, but I haven't watched them through yet. I'm inclined to think that it's something from the manufacturing process of double-sided discs, but I don't know.

Maybe the pics are bad, but I don't really see anything wrong. There appears to be a slight wavy-ness on the edge of the dvds, but it doesn't look like anything that would keep it from playing.

I have a few that look kinda like that (as well as I can tell). I wouldn't really call them burn marks as much as imperfections in the edges of the discs. As Spottedfeather has alluded to, none of the imperfections have ever caused problems with playback (knock on wood), although I've troubled over it myself in the past (too much of a perfectionist). I would say that as long as they play, I wouldn't worry too much about it. -kd5-

Re: Burn marks on discs?
Thanks for the replies guys. I figured it was likely nothing, but I thought I'd see if anyone else noticed this on their discs. Like I said, it seems to only be on double sided discs, not regular ones.
