I really hate how they're using part of the cover for advertisements.

Not exactly. Was Marvel obscuring the cover art just to fuel the future speculator market? Or was it tied to some TV show or candy bar promotion? But yeah, I don't like that either.

Ha ha! No, it was definitely some kind of promotion but I couldn't come up with anything on Google.
