Re: The Office -- "Andy's Ancestry" -- 10/04/12
After a couple rocky episodes this one felt back to form. If this episode is any indication for the rest of the season, then this could be the best season in years.
So many great bits from the cold open, to Erin dothraki, Darrell's pre-recorded responses and subsequent uses and Andy thinking he's related to Michelle Obama + Erin's response, Jim's realization he looks like Nixon...
so much good in this one.

I watched several episodes last year and gave up on the show. Tuned into tonight for the first time this season and liked what I saw as well.

Tonight's episode was better than the last couple, but it's still a little off-kilter. That said, still enjoying it.

Enjoyed the non-Nellie parts I guess...but I just fast forward through every scene with Nellie, so I end up missing half of the "plot". Cannot. Fucking. Stand her.

Did Jim tell Pam or not? I was a little confused by her last line of "I still cant believe he didnt tell me"

She just meant "I can't believe he hadn't told me until now - that he was working on this thing by himself and not sharing with me."

OK thats what I thought. Thanks. It was just the tone in her voice that made it seem like he told her something else instead even though she knew there was a bigger secret.

Whoa, that person has really gotten him or herself into quite a predicament.
I didn't watch the last season (gave up like 3 episodes in) so I have no idea what's up with the seemingly psychotic Nellie hate. Perhaps that's for the best.

The cold openings on this show are always incredible. I could just watch a marathon of all their openings.
Rest of the episode. Men. Nellie sucks. Andy's storyline was just a Michael storyline. Though the interns applauding everything he did was funny. I enjoyed the Erin stuff too.

The cold open was exceptional. Best cold open they've done in years.
The only other part of the episode I liked was Jim's Nixon realization.

Eh, it had a few good moments. Definitely a little step up from last week's episode but not as good as the season opener. Nellie's still there for no reason, and shame on the writers for trying to "win us over" by getting her in good with Pam, who's pretty unlikeable in her own right these days.

LOVED the opening. Erin is looking quite yummy this season, too.
A funny episode from start to finish. Good job Office.
