Animal Practice -- Timeslot Premiere -- "Little Miss Can't Be Wrong" -- 9/26/12

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Synopsis:

Spoiler:
When Doug's (Tyler Labine) dog "Little Miss Can't Be Wrong," gets injured and needs surgery, he enlists George (Justin Kirk) to perform the operation when he realizes he's too nervous to do it himself. Dorothy (JoAnna Garcia Swisher) steps up her efforts to be accepted by the staff when she finds out they've been doing Happy Hour without her. Meanwhile, Angela (Betsy Sodaro) decides to try and sell Dr. Rizzo's (Crystal) artwork to a gallery but Dr. Rizzo is not so keen on the idea. Bobby Lee and Kym Whitley also star.

I kind of liked the Pilot that aired after the Olympics. I'll give this another whirl. Plus it helps to have some weekly eye candy of JoAnna Garcia Swisher.

Anyone else watch this? I have to admit, I thought it was pretty funny in a stupid kind of way. I was actually laughing out loud at the monkey "Tebowing" and then the painting sequence. And the monkey hanging on the painting. As long as there is decent stuff with monkey and the people stuff is decent, it'll be worth watching.

I enjoyed it, for some reason or another. I think perhaps because they have cast an amalgam of characters from other sitcoms:

(Greg Kinnear playing) Dr. House/the curmudgeon veternarian
Andy and Donna from Parks & Rec playing the loveable goofball and sassy woman, respectively
Senor Chang from Community playing the wacky Asian (cringeworthy)
Monica from Friends playing the administrator

I watched - got sucked in by that monkey right from the opening credits. I could watch that monkey for hours!!

But it did feel like a wacky "house" meets the rebooted "Breaking In"

I will watch again.

The monkey freakin' Tebowed!

I said this in the Neighbors thread, but it bears repeating here. Quirky and odd is good for comedy. I like that these kinds of shows are getting made.

That and the monkey is awesome.

Funny show, I'm in! With the horrible batch of new comedies this year, this and Go On are the only winners.
