Best way to hide a cable along the wall and across a fireplace?

Hi All,

Due to the location where my cable source is and where my TV is, i'll need to run quite a long cable between rooms and across a fireplace.

Right now it's just a coax cable running along the floor, but it's pretty ugly at the moment.

I was wondering what suggestions you had around hiding this cable under plastic/rubber cable organisers?

Hammering against the wall is not an option so it will need to simply cover the cable across the floor. The cable also runs across a fireplace (which is completely inactive) but will need to look good when it runs across.

I'm thinking some type of rubber cable stay device but I can't seem to find a place which sells it online.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance

I should also add that i'm looking to cover ONE cable, not a number of cables - so a raceway of some sort isn't really an option as it would take up quite a lot of space against the corner of the floor.

This is similar to a raceway, but it is roughly the size of one cable, so it might be fine with you...

Put the cable through, stick it to the wall, paint it the same color as the wall.

Thanks for the reply. I don't want to stick or nail anything to the wall, just want to have something which conceals the cable on the floor.

Any further suggestions?

Invest in some rugs.

Here is something that can just be placed on the floor - along the corner. I run my subwoofer cable thru them - pretty good.

Found at Lowe's for $7.97 - you can buy as many as you want depending on the length ( each 5 feet) . Wiremold Non-Metallic White RacewayItem #: 68996 | Model #: NMW1

I'd route as much of it as I could through the duct work, if possible, to limit the amount you have to cover.

You don't mention what your living quarters are. If it's an apartment I'd try running it along the wall at the floor, tuck it down the edge of the carpet (up and around doorways) all the way to its destination (longer that way but neater). If it's a house, I'd drill a small hole through the floor at the cable source, run it down to the basement, over to the destination, drill another hole at the destination and run the cable up to the TV. -kd5-
