I was kinda hoping it was going to be like "Robin Hood", the Blu-Ray bonus disc was a DVD.
Thanks for the info Randy Hassan.

If you go to the Taget online ad and hover over the image of the 3D version of Avengers.. the popup shows it as $19.99... this is the 3D version with the bonus disc..

Thanks John/snausages! Wish I could get more excited about Target's sale but unless their unadvertised specials are special, there's nothing for me this week. -kd5-

Re: Target DVD prices (September 23rd - 29th, 2012)
Ended up getting to Target about 20 minutes before they opened... up until 5 minutes before opening I was the only car in the regular part of the parking lot (employees were off to the side).. there were a couple employees cleaning in front of the store (power washing and picking up trash).. and there were 2 seagulls..
just about 5 minutes before opening.. in came a small amount of cars.. maybe 10.... and they parked.. when these folks got out of their cars.. I didn't think everyone was there for Avengers.. boy was I wrong..
the doors opened.. and all of us went to where the discs were setup... the 3D set was shelf marked $24.99... and they had the regular Blu set (the one mentioned they wouldn't get) marked $19.99.. I thought.. hmmm... maybe that was a regional thing or mistake on the website or urban legend..
then I heard the worker that was there talking to the small group of people.. explaining that it is $5 more to get the 3D set.. but if you want to save $5.. the regular set would be good... so I changed my plan to buy 2 and grabbed 1 ... then I noticed the price scanner nearby..
scanned the 3D set.. and .. it was $19.99.. so as I grabbed a 2nd copy (an Xmas present)... I told the people with the employee and the employee that the 3D set was indeed still $19.99... so basically the same price.. and here it is.. the punchline..
the employee told all of us.. that yes ... "right now".. it is $19.99 because they had price matched themselves on the other set as they orginally didn't think they were going to get any ... but now that they did get them ... the $19.99 price for the 3D set will only work for a little while "today only"....
so the 70 year old guy that was there buying 5 copies (assumed for his grandchildren or that is gonna be us in a few decades)... put his non-3D sets back to get the 3D sets..
basically the employee was trying to steer people away from the 3D set.. likely to allow it to go back up to $24.99... but that small pack of us that were there early didn't take the bait.. (I even told a couple people in the checkout.. who went back to change up to the 3D set)...
happy hunting...

Re: Target DVD prices (September 23rd - 29th, 2012)
I was the second DVD / Blu-Ray customer through the door of the Ansonia, CT. store when it opened at 8 AM this morning.
When I arrived at the DVD section, the first customer had already called for a manager becuase he was looking for the Avenger blue copy (Blu-Ray / DVD / Digital Copy) which he could not locate. He stated that he had come specifically to Target because they were the only vendor to advertise a Blu-Ray / DVD / Digital Copy combo. The version on the shelf was only the Blu-Ray / DVD combo. He cited to the manager how he wanted the Digital Copy so he could pass that copy off to his children. So apparently the BR/DVD/DC version DOES NOT EXIST. At least here on the east coast it is not in their system.
He found (as did I) that he could not upgrade to the Gold version (which is what I ordered and has the 3d Blu / BR / DVD / Digital Copy + Music ) because the Ansonia store got ZERO copies in.
The manager (Stephanie) was very calm throughout both us fans talking to her.
In the first gentleman's case she arranged for him to get the Blu-Ray version for free.
In my case, she called the Trumbull, CT. and spoke with the media manager Dominick and asked him to specifically to hold a gold copy for me at the Customer Service desk. She also compensated me for my travel trip by reducing the price of the new animated Batman disc to $0.00. (As some of know from past situation with Target that they do not not like to hold items for customers at the service desk).
When I got to Trumbull, the Avengers gold copy was waiting for me which I quickly paid for and left. Because I bought other items with it, I did NOT note the price which should've been $24.99.
I see now that it rang up at $19.99 which indicates a glitch in their system.
All in all, I'm very happy with how the Target managers at both the Ansonia and Trumbull stores (Steph & Dom) handled my situtation.
Well done Target!

Re: Target DVD prices (September 23rd - 29th, 2012)
It's a Blu-Ray. It's glued to the back of the HD slim case (inside the slip cover) in its own cardboard envelope. The back of the envelope says DVD on the bottom, but when I opened it up, it was a Blu-Ray. The glue comes off without tearing any of the cardboard, so that's a plus.

It's not a glitch in the system. It's a previously-unannounced sale. It's also up on their website.

I don't even have a 3d player, nor will I likely ever use it, but with everything else coming in that package, why get the standard version?

The print ad also states that you can get a BD/DVD/DC version for $19.99 . Because this version doesn't actually exist, they changed the price of the 3D version (which does have a DC) to $19.99 to compensate. At my Target, the shelf tag clearly has both versions at $19.99 and there were a buttload of the 3D versions (with bonus disc) in multiple locations.

Both Ansonia & Trumbull had shelf tags that reflected the prices listed in the ads.
It sounds like some stores have reprinted their tags.
