It's not looking good for the veterans or celebs, except maybe Michael. Then again, he may end up killing himself. Was Russell this annoying on his original season?

My early pick to win is Malcolm. Him and Angie were the only alliance formed that seemed genuine.

I agree. They seemed to have the truest alliance--and both seem to have good heads on their shoulders. All the other alliances were way too hasty.

I was thinking the same thing about Russell, and I don't think he was. However, his first season was also the one that had "evil" Russell Hantz vs. "good" Russell Swan as a source of drama.

So far so good. Russell was probably the worst offender but I don't think he was that bad.

I wonder if anyone carded Angie before letting her on the show. She looks 16.

I loved how Russell carped on about how he wouldn't take the leader role because it put a huge target on your back, then did every annoying 'leader' thing in the book.

Penner's tribe may be in trouble... usually when a tribe spends most of their screen time/strategy whining about having a returning player on their team and how they are going to get rid of him right away, that team turns out to be an unfocused mess.

I found Russell to be really annoying. It was grating and almost to the point of being arrogant about his time on the show, which was short.

Didn't really care for Penner and his antics. Can't believe this is his 3rd time on the show and he gets to come back because of his injury on an all-star edition.

Lisa Whelchel looks really good for being 49. She seems very humble and outgoing, so I'm a little surprised the editing is making her seem like an outsider (if that is really the case). At least Skupin seems to want her to stick around. Sucks to hear that all the money she made from acting his gone.

at Jeff Kent hurting his knee. I thought it was funny that Kent was portraying himself as some Southern Good Old Boy from Texas....The guy was born in Bellflower, California and grew up in Southern California (went to High School and College there) Yeah he probably lives there now, but he's not a Texan. I wonder if Dawson was fed that info that he's a former MLB player. She doesn't seem like the type who watches baseball and she even said that she used to hang around with someone who watches MLB, so it sounded to me her knowledge seemed sketchy at best.

Too early to have any favorites right now. Angie is really nice to look at. Hope she sticks around for awhile.

Seems like a good group. Only Zane and Russell annoyed me and one is already gone and the other won't last if he keeps bossing people around.

Jeff Kent could have gone completely incognito by shaving his mustache, but he looks pretty much the same as he did during his playing days, and he got a lot of air time during the Barry Bonds years. I don't know if I could have made the association out of context and out of uniform, but I don't think it's impossible that he could have been recognized.

Russell was beyond irritating. They need him for challenges, though. But... if they lose again and he keeps on telling everyone what to do he'll most likely be gone.

I hope Malcolm sticks around for a long time. Great eye candy and seems like a good guy.
