Magnum PI ran for eight seasons. The first four seasons were released on double sided DVDs, which had lots of defects and playback problems. The last four seasons were released on single sided DVDS.

Just very recently, the first two seasons (but not three and four) have been rereleased on single sided DVDs.

Season 3 not being rereleased seperately is odd since it's in the Complete Series.
I bought S1 & 2 from Target when they were around $9 each and then Columbia House had a deal where you could combine 2 deals so I was able to use 20% off they were doing at the time plus a 50% code and ended up getting the Complete Series a few months ago for $40.79! Did the same with Columbo ($35.99) and Murder She Wrote ($47.99) sets since I had none of either of those. Sadly they are no longer doing the 20% off sales but you can still use 50% coupon once per account. Here's to hoping Universal does a Rockford Files set!

Seasons 5, 6, 7, and 8 are each being re-released on single sided DVDs in a case that's the size of a regular DVD case on July 1. Weirdly, they are still not releasing season 3 on single sided DVDs.
