I never thought this would happen, but I'll gladly pick this up, and mentions it will be more Sesame Street before Elmo became part of the show.
Back by popular demand, it's our third installment in the Old School series, covering 1979-1984. In this set you'll see your Sesame Street friends on and off the Street! Remember when everyone surprised Maria in Puerto Rico for her birthday? Or when Snuffy and Gordon ran the New York City marathon? Bonus DVD extras like never-before-seen behind-the-scenes footage will prove that we're still kicking it old school!
Warner Home Video has today announced that November 6th will see their DVD release of Sesame Street - Old School Volume 3: 1979 - 1984. This picks up from the first two volumes, released in 2006 and 2007, with more highlights from the show's pre-Elmo days (note that the puppet which became Elmo was seen on the show earlier than that, but it was 1984 when Kevin Clash took up the muppet and created the character we now all know as "Elmo"). Cost for this long-awaited follow-up is $29.87 SRP. Package art and details are not available yet, but stay tuned!

That's when I got too old for it, but I'll get this anyway. Wish they'd put out more stuff from the 70s- the way the show kept repeating segments, they should just put out a disc with every segment used on the show.

About my time too ( I still watched till I was technically way too old for it, but I guess I've always given anything with puppets a little leeway).

I'm still wondering whether to get this set as a completist but I havent heard/read entirely good things - not enough classic cuts, sections are repeated from earlier sets (I know SS repeats a lot but the Doll House song is included FFS) and the opening theme is dropped from every episode (?) and no Friday credit crawl 
Hope the mistakes are rectified for a Volume 4.

Netflix has old eps, like late 70's. It was pretty trippy watching that old stuff.
