Can someone tell me if these Blu-rays are on Netflix?
Can anyone who is a current Blu-ray subscriber of Netflix tell me if the Blu-rays below are available to rent on Netflix? As members know, you have to be a Blu-ray subscriber to actually see what Blu-rays are available. And it's really unpredictable when Netflix actually puts a Blu-ray in stock. Some are available shortly upon release. Some take a long time after release. And some are just never available. I wouldn't want to pay $20 subscription only to find out that Netflix still doesn't have a majority of these. Can someone tell me if these are available?

It never ceases to amaze me how Netflix needlessly alienates potential customers and subscribers by not revealing their inventory without a membership. Wouldn't they generate more business if they openly displayed what they have to offer? Have they so little confidence in their operation that they must trick people into joining?

Yes Prof, yes ... but you forget that they no longer want people to use the service that provides more profit for them.

Re: Can someone tell me if these Blu-rays are on Netflix?
Someone at Home Theater Forum told me that of all the BDs on my list, only the following disappointing few are available at Netflix:
Weekend (2011 UK film, released 8/21/12)
The Royal Tenenbaums (released 8/14/12)
Le Havre (released 7/31/12)
Down by Law (released 7/17/12)
La Haine (released 5/8/12)
Rushmore (released 11/22/11)
Carlos (multi-disc movie, released 9/27/11)
Just to benefit others, below are the BDs I was able to rent from Netflix a few months ago. Some are movie-only rental copies only, but most of what I have rented were full discs. Bonus-only Blu-ray discs are rarely stocked; we could only rent the corresponding SD DVD bonus disc, if there is one. Netflix does seem to stock a variety of Blu-rays, from Criterions to new studio releases, but you just can't count on them to have any given titles that you wish them to have, let alone having them in a timely fashion.
Sorted by studio release dates:
High Noon (BD, Olive Films, 7/17/12)
The Artist (BD, Sony, 6/26/12)
The 39 Steps (BD, Criterion, 6/26/12)
Harold and Maude (BD, Criterion, 6/12/12)
Shallow Grave (BD, Criterion, 6/12/12)
The Grapes of Wrath (BD, Fox, 6/5/12)
Certified Copy (BD, Criterion, 5/22/12)
Men in Black (BD, Sony, 5/1/12)
Hugo (BD, Paramount, 2/28/12) *** RENTAL EDITION - MOVIE ONLY ***
Anatomy of a Murder (BD, Criterion, 2/21/12)
Tiny Furniture (BD, Criterion, 2/14/12)
A Very Harold & Kumar Christmas (BD, Warner, 2/7/12) *** RENTAL EDITION - MOVIE ONLY ***
Lady and the Tramp (BD, Disney, 2/7/12) *** RENTAL EDITION - MOVIE ONLY ***
Harakiri (BD, Criterion, 10/4/11)
The Lion King (BD, Disney, 10/4/11) *** RENTAL EDITION - MOVIE ONLY ***
Citizen Kane (BD, Warner, 9/13/11)
My Life as a Dog (BD, Criterion, 9/13/11)
Secret Sunshine (BD, Criterion, 8/23/11)
The Battle of Algiers (BD, Criterion, 8/9/11) ** DISC ONE ONLY ***
The Stepfather (1980 version, BD, New Century, 6/15/10)
Bigger than Life (BD, Criterion, 3/23/10)

Re: Can someone tell me if these Blu-rays are on Netflix?
Is there any way of getting an up-to date list of Criterion Blu-rays on Netflix? I can't seem to figure out how to a Blu-ray only search there. There is a big list of all the Blu-rays, but they are not sortable by studio.
Also classic Warner BDs - like say Cabaret?
