and set in the era the novels were set in...and have those films remade literally using Fleming's world as the source. Also..they'd be cheap to make.

Yep ditto. The funniest thing i find is people aren't exactly clamoring for Craig to continue onwards.

I think everyone is fine with Craig, we're just speculating on his eventual replacement. After Skyfall Craig may have one more up his sleeve, but then it'll be time for a new Bond.

I think Craig has a couple more left in him at least. After that though I would definitely be okay with Fassbender in the role.

I am very happy to see more films from Craig. Fassbender and Bale are great choices depending which route they want to go. Bale wouldn't do it anyways.

Report: Daniel Craig Signed On For Two More Bond Films After Skyfall

Leading James Bond fansite MI6 are reporting confirmation that Daniel Craig will stay with the 007 series for at least two films beyond Skyfall.

It seems that Sony are planning to get the films back on a bi-annual schedule, though they may face some resistance there:

This schedule may be too aggressive for the artistic process at EON Productions, who have savoured the longer than usual break between films to craft the script for Skyfall and have other non-007 related projects in the works, too. Craig himself is keen to have a breather before kicking off another Bond outing, telling press recently that he is not taking any other film work on until after all the Skyfall promotional work is over in the New Year.
EON are apparently already setting up deals for scriptwriters to get working on the next two films, which could mean a fairly nice compromise – lots of work done, quick turnaround.

It is worth remembering that both Sean Connery and Timothy Dalton left the role mid-contract, so there is precedent for an actor skipping off ahead of expectations.

I’m very much a fan of Daniel Craig’s Bond – by which I mean Casino Royale is my favourite film in the whole series and I’ve managed to get over Quantum of Solace with repeated listening to Joe Cornish’s unused theme song. Craig can stay around as long as he likes, if you ask me.

Elba I'd see in a heartbeat, but yes I agree Fassbender as Bond would seem a bit bland - he more brooding than "action"

Not really. I can't stand him, especially after the last film. I still love the Bond series and will keep seeing them all but I'll be happy to see him go. I feel it was a good thing that there was such a long break as it has given them time to rework the formula with Craig as Bond. Maybe this one will change my mind.

Re: Who do you want to play next James Bond?

I won't endorse Fassbender for the role. He'd be better suited as a Bond villain. He's more of a character actor than a leading man. He looks very different in every role. I didn't even recognize him in the photo in the original post. Since it was labeled "me," I thought Scott 1598 was posting a photo of himself.
