This Must Be The Place -- D: Sorrentino S: Sean Penn, Frances McDormand -- 11/2/12
Really weird trailer, not sure about the coked out transvestite look Penn has going.

Really odd release time seeing that this came out early in the year in other places and already has a dvd release out (Italian, I think).
At first it said it was going to come out early on in the year or mid year but never made it and I assumed it wasn't going to get a wide release at all in the US, but now it's back.
I had been looking forward to this for quite awhile and assumed I was just going to wait til the US dvd release. Looks interesting.

Best part of the film is the performance from David Byrne although his acting afterwards leaves a whole lot to be desired.
Movie was just okay. Not bad not great.

I don't think I can handle 2 hours of Sean Penn looking and sounding like that.

This Must Be The Place (2012; D: Sorrentino; S: Penn, McDormand)
Didn't find a thread for this. Saw a trailer while watching the terrible The Citadel and was immediately stoked, then saw it opens Friday. Since I already have Hitchcock for Friday and The Hobbit for Saturday, will catch this Sunday. Looks awesome.

There definitely is a thread somewhere but since the search function is completely down you are forgiven.
I've seen the film and it's just okay, unfortunately. David Byrne gives the best performance in the film (his musical performance that is - not his acting performance).

Strange and interesting film that I enjoyed. A black comedy that almost feels surreal with an interesting performance from Sean Penn.
Some nice supporting work from Frances McDormand, Judd Hirsch & Harry Dean Stanton.
