The Devil All the Time - Donald Ray Pollock
Just finished reading this novel. Quite the despicable tale and perfect vehicle for David Lynch or someone that could really catch the essence of the depravity of these people.
It revolves around a serial killing couple who travel around picking up hitchhikers and take photos. Side stories of traveling sicko preachers and crazed fathers who will do anything for God for his wife.
All in all, a good read. The author was a factory worker until he was 50 and then went to Ohio State for writing or something. This is his first novel and was well received.

I read this a few weeks ago (mentioned in the "What are you reading? (August 2012)" thread).
I enjoyed it a lot.
His first book "Knockemstiff" is a collection of short stories - and is also good. Like I said in the other thread, after reading his books I feel the need to take a shower.
