Copper -- "Husbands and Fathers" -- 8/26/12

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Synopsis:

Spoiler:
A figure from Corcoran's past returns to Five Points, and new questions arise about his daughter's death and his wife's disappearance.

Episode 2 of 10

I enjoyed the premiere last week. Always respect a network willing to spend some money on period shows like this. I believe the ratings were decent last week.

Looking forward to some posters saying they have never heard of Copper.

Yeah. I just watched the pilot. I found myself losing interest as it went on. But there's almost nothing else worth watching in the next few weeks, so I'll watch a few more before I decide to continue on. The presentation is decent (I definitely would not continue if it wasn't in HD).

Why does this series feel so much like BBCA saw Raising Hell on AMC and decided they needed their own period show? It's been mildly entertaining so far, though I get the feeling some of the actors think they're in a HBO prestige drama.

You mean Hell on Wheels? I watch them both and after the first 2 episodes I think Copper is a lot more fun to watch. Hell on Wheels can really drag sometimes. Period action/dramas just seem to be one of the "in" things at the moment so it doesn't surprise me. On that note, can't wait for Downton Abbey to be back.

Tapping out. Super bored, and I'm so confused, too many names of people I can't remember.

I like it. It reminds me of "deadwood". There is a lot of info that is conveyed but I think the show is good enough to stick with, since Longmire, Glades, True blood and Newsroom are all on hiatus

Same here.

Any resemblance to Deadwood is simply because of the timeframe.

I was getting bored the first half of the first episode, and the lead and the other detective looked exactly the same except for a mustache..but finally figured out that they were different people.. Second episode I thought was much better and I don't even think had a case of the week. Like it better than Hell on Wheels at this point. I like period shows and Hell on Wheels seems like something I'd love..it's just..not that compelling for some reason. Just good enough to watch. Haven't watched ep. 3 of Copper yet, hopefully it doesn't let me down.
