impressive hold by TDKR. Assuming it holds well next week with both Bourne Legacy and the Campaign, it should easily pass 400 mil with out issue

Is Colin Ferrell the king of remakes? I mean first Fright Night and now this? Surely they can find someone else to jump on the remake band wagon.

I have no issues with the guy, he's a pretty good actor.
However, I don't think anyone could have headlined this dud of a remake with much success. It has issues that go well beyond the lead man, and lost the fun and personality of the original while retaining the repetition and somewhat dull action.
Fright Night was a pretty successful remake (not financially I know), enjoyed that one.
Moonrise Kingdom has quietly passed the $40m mark.

Van Helsing comes to mind for me as the last time I saw a movie in theaters that was non-stop action where I simply did not care and was literally falling asleep.
I tend to avoid action movies these days, most people I tell that to think I'm crazy, but if the action is excessive, has no real pull on the plotline or characters, and is as unimaginative as it has been for the last few years then there's really no reason for it, just hurry up and get back to the story. I've started to greatly prefer quick bursts of extreme violence over drawn out action scenes.

And if I saw them jump from one more building to another, or from one elevator to another, one more time..............

At least Mel Gibson waited till he was in his 50's.

Farrell was cool in Triage, Ondine, Fright Night, In Bruges, London Boulevard, Minority Report, etc.
Never had a problem with him. He likes to party and he's not a dick.

Yep, that sounds like him. You've never heard stories about him being a degenerate, so I don't really know where some of the hate came from. Was it cause he banged Brittany Spears in her prime or was it due to overexposure?

Scenes featuring Colin Farrell nude were cut from the movie because they were too distracting for test audiences.

Well he's a drinker and people equate drinking with being a degenerate.
I equate it to being awesome.
