This is hardly fair. You should be comparing The Good, The Bad & The Ugly with 2001 III.

2001 is the most boring movie in the history of motion pictures...

The Good,The Bad, and The Ugly wins this one EASILY

Well this isn't fair at all. Comparing one of the best films of the 60's against the greatest film ever made?

2001: A Space Odyssey wins without a second thought.

FRwL
07-27-12, 05:31 AM
Lawrence of Arabia, Psycho, The Graduate...

Yeah, i know , but no, because , Hitchcok was not the boldest of 60s directors, Lean was not, and Nichols were not.

There are maybe only 2 or 3 films better than 2001, and TGTBATU aint one of them. Great movie, but 2001 is a total fucking cinematic masterpiece. No contest.

The Good, The Bad and the Ugly

2001 should've been called ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

2001 easily...especially since TGTBATU isn't even Leone's best film of the 60's.

Yup!

Let's see, in one corner we have a film that is probably one of the top three films of the 20th century and in the other corner we have a film that isn't even the best film that its director made during the decade of the 1960's.

2001 by a fucking mile.

Next poll, whose the better athlete: Babe Ruth or the special olympics softball team?

It is. GBU's unhinged whimsy is stronger than OUTATW perfectionism.

The poll says otherwise. TGTBTU for the win.

TomOpus
07-27-12, 06:06 PM
People voting for TGTBATU sure aren't posting comments. While that's a solid movie, IMO, 2001 is a masterpiece. I still watch it in awe today and am astounded it was made almost 45 years ago.

For A Few Dollars More is Leone's best 60's film. Get with the program.

JumpCutz

Leone is barrel rolling in his grave. Even he would've voted for 2001 in this poll.

That's not a choice in this poll.;)

Supermallet

True, but people were debating the best Leone film of the 60's. And I'm here to tell you it's For A Few Dollars More.

dhmac

I can't vote - this is too much of a Sophie's Choice situation.

Yeah but you don't have any Godard in your poll either. :)

I completely agree. 2001 meanders during the 2nd half of the movie and you just want HAL to steer the ship into the sun or blow it up to get the movie over with it's so boring. It's my least favorite Kubrick film where TGTbTU is my favorite Leone film, so it's a no brainer for me.

emachine

Definitely the Leone film.

If you asked which was my favorite using OUATITW vs. 2001. It's OUATITW. 2001 is the better film though. And 2001 is still better TGTBTU...and TGTBTU is a weak film compared to OUATITW...cuz that motherfucker is work of goddamn art.

DeputyDave
07-30-12, 07:40 PM
I voted for wich one I enjoy watching more. 2001 is a great film but I enjoy watching Ugly much more.

Tom Creo
07-30-12, 08:33 PM
OUATITW is a great film, no doubt, but Eastwood + Van Cleef + Wallach =MAGIC.

Solid Snake
07-30-12, 09:45 PM
That can be true as well...just...that last duel. Sums up everything about your hero and your villain. And why that villain has to die more so now. The moment you see it. You say, "This fucker has to pay now and hard."

Tom Creo

True, true.
