Re: Falling Skies -- "Molon Labe" -- 7/22/12
Karen's harness was yellow when she was carrying the white flag, but orange when inside the building. Odd, or maybe just bad continuity.
The idiocy of these characters (aka bad writing) continues to amaze.
Ben says he has important info from the overlord's mind but, naturally, runs off without debriefing anybody. You'd think even a 15-year-old would understand how stupid that is, and if he doesn't, you'd think Tom would ask some damn questions after Ben says he has that information.
Lourdes still hasn't informed anyone about the alien insect escaping.

You would also think that maybe Annie and Lourdes might inform the rest of them that the new spider creatures can incubate inside humans.
Or maybe at some point SOMEONE WOULD KEEP BEN AWAY FROM THE DAMNED ALIENS.

I can't take it anymore. I enjoy bad TV as much as the next guy but there's bad and then there's insultingly bad. This show has had such potential from day one but no one seems to want to give even the slightest effort to make a cohesive, sensible narrative. Seriously, just one pass by any semi-competent writer could have fixed this trainwreck long ago.

I'm actually surprised by the downer posts; I've been ragging on this show for a while but last night was a really good episode, as far as action and maturity of the plot points. Sure there were some bad points like the stuff with Hal and Maggie or the CGI Spiders on the door one minute but gone the next deal but it was much better than anything since the Pilot IMO.

Is it bad to hate and like the show? I dig the world that they have created and think the mythology is good. But the writing is terrible. The adult acting is decent, with Wylie showing he should have got tons of accolades for ER (he makes this shit bareable). However the kids suck and I struggle through the episodes. I rarely shut down show so there must be something to it...but they have got to make it better.
