Really looking forward to this. Apparently it's 68 minutes!

Tempest is about the Titaniac and is fourteen minutes long. The closer is a tribute to John Lennon.

Re: Bob Dylan - Tempest (09/11/12)

Bob Dylan has revealed more information about his upcoming album Tempest, including cover art and the track listing. It's his 35th studio album.

The album contains 10 songs, including a John Lennon tribute entitled "Roll on John," which quotes lines from multiple Beatles songs, including "Come together right now" from "Come Together" and "I heard the news today, oh boy" from "A Day in the Life." The title track is a 14-minute epic about the sinking of the Titanic, which actually refers to a scene from James Cameron's 1997 film Titanic at one point. The chorus of another standout track, "Pay in Blood," includes the line, "I'll pay in blood, but not my own."

Tempest arrives in stores on September 11th, 11 years to the day after the release of Dylan's 2001, LP Love and Theft.

Ah yes, who could ever forget September 11, 2001 -- The day Bob Dyan's Love and Theft album was released.

I was there and bought it that day.

I'm not normally one to complain too much about cover art, but wow...that is ugly!

I'll pick this up for sure. I've really liked his last couple albums even though his voice is shot to hell now days.

Me, too. I remember being in a shell-shocked daze, walking around Best Buy to get my copy of 'Love and Theft'.

For some reason, I remember that was also the day that Billy Crystal's movie 61* was released on DVD, and I bought it for my dad early that morning.

I would be shocked if more than eleven minutes were spent on it. And that's including booting up the Mac and Photoshop.

It seriously looks like one of those compilation albums they sell at listening stations next to the greeting cards at Target.

My first thought was a grey market album from the late eighties, but you're absolutely right!

Odd-ish video:

I remember walking into an empty Wherehouse to pick up Blow on DVD, and, appropriately enough, Slayer's "God Hates Us All".

I'm enjoying it. But the songs are a bit too long. Less is more with Dylan's voice.

Re: Bob Dylan - Tempest (09/11/12)

I love Pay In Blood. I have been playing it over and over. The only song that hasn't grabbed me yet is the title track but I still enjoy it.

Re: Bob Dylan - Tempest (09/11/12)

I quite like this album. "Roll On John" is especially epic. Gonna have to give it a few more listens to see how it really sits with me.
