Chinese Zodiac (aka Armour of God 3, Dir: Jackie Chan)
We don't have a proper thread for this film soooo here we have it.

Here's some stuff Chan did for Comic Con and just more insight as well. I'll spoiler it just not to clutter the page essentially.
an upcoming Hong Kong action film produced, written, directed by and starring Jackie Chan. It is the sequel to the 1991 film Armour of God II: Operation Condor, in which Jackie will reprise his role as Asian Hawk. The movie tells about Asian Hawk bringing back the bronze head statues of the 12 Chinese zodiac animals, which were sacked by the French and British armies from the imperial Summer Palace in Beijing in 1860..
A major fight scene of the action movie cost 70 million yuan, or more than 10 million U.S. dollars.

He's covered up in that armor so it won't be so easy to tell he's not doing his own stunts.

Rumble in the Bronx
First Strike
Mr. Nice Guy
and to a lesser extent, his US Rush Hour and Shanghai Noon movies. The international version of the Medallion had its moments and Spy Next Door was an okay family flick to watch with the kids (but wasn't a "real" Jackie Chan movie).
All that being said, I'm really looking forward to Chinese Zodiac.

He was great in Police Story III (a.k.a. Supercop) along with Michelle Yeoh.
Rob B Hood was fun as well. It even had a brief supporting role by Yuen Biao.
Although his drunk scene wasn't very good, there's some really solid action in the sequel-in-name-only New Police Story.
The Myth was entertaining until the horrid ending (it really ruined the movie for me).
Jackie Chan was great in Little Big Soldier. It has a solid story too.
He aslo has a very good supporting role in Shaolin.

^^ +1, right down to the ending of The Myth. So close to being a real comeback.
I also enjoyed Shanghai Noon quite a bit. Rumble in the Bronx I may have liked more than it deserved as Chan presented the screening in person.
And I am really looking forward to his new movie. Can't believe in one year I get to see film versions of childhood favorites John Carter and The Avengers, a new Asian Hawk flick, and Stallone/Willis/Van Damme/Schwazenegger/Norris/Li in the same movie.

Some of this excites me a lot and some bits quickly pushes me down in that excitement as well. It's Armour of God 3... I just have to see this.
The CGI in this makes me cringe. From the standpoint of being a fan of his and well..it's quality as well.
I'll want to see this for sure but it also bothers me that it just looks fake as well. Not taking about the wire fu or the cgi but the sets themselves. He doesn't film them in a very good fashion.

Apparently the movie was not that great. The beginning and ending sucked but the middle was entertaining, is the consensus I've seen. I've been meaning to pick up the BD. dddhouse no longer carries it but YesAsia still has it.
I find it hilarious that the plot summary on the back of the BD spoils almost the entire movie.

The trailer says, "In theaters October 18." Is it an old trailer or a new one? October 18, 2013? Which theaters?

I'm confused too, is the movie now dubbed into english or did the trailer just show parts that are in english

It showed parts that are in English. I was surprised that the trailer also featured Cantonese lines without subtitling them. I'm guessing that was not a US trailer.

Noticed an "AMC Amazing" logo. Maybe this will get a 1 or 2 week stay in place of the Bollywood features that usually get a 1 or 2 week run at amc theaters

This is going to a VERY limited number of AMC theaters in IMAX on October 18th. The release will be similar to how they released Flying Swords of Dragon Gate and Young Detective Dee.

I'm sure there's some sort of religious symbolism here that I'm too tired to pick up on .
My local AMC never runs Bollywood stuff. There's a significant Indian population around where I live though, and a local theater from a chain presumably called "Phoenix" does it quite a bit.
