I will probably need to stay away from "the man of steel" too.....because there is no way in hell that superman's bulge will be less epic than spiderman's.

Batman's bulge has never concerned me. Maybe the black costume hides it, because I never noticed anything. I would assume he has some Kevlar cup surrounding his manhood to prevent bad shit happening. There is probably no zipper either, so he would need to take his pants off when he goes to the bathroom, even if it is just to take a piss. Maybe that's why Bruce Wayne will get drunk, but not batman.

Whether it is distracting or not probably has to do with if it gets a 'rise' out of you or not.

If it does get a rise out of you and causes you to spill your drink, you can call up Murray Spiderman and his firm will sue the pants off the theater.
