The biggest ripoff ever? Looney Tunes: Best of Bugs Bunny

Looney Tunes: Best of Bugs Bunny

I saw this today at Walmart and thought it looked interesting. Then I saw the runtime: 20 mins. Is it Warner Bros' intention to piss off consumers? This has to be one of the shortest commercial DVDs I've ever seen.

And an insult to a groundbreaking character and studio. Decades of work, and only 20 minutes are the 'best'? (subjective as 'best' is)
That's like if the Best of Shakespeare consisted of "Alas, poor Yorick."

That's pretty sleezy. How much were they charging for this in store?

There's another one too: Looney Tunes Unleashed

These releases make no sense, unless it's part of some promotional giveaway. Both contain all previously-released shorts.

Unless Warner Brothers announces a plan to release the remaining shorts and does so in a good consistent way (maybe volume sets?) I refuse to give them a dime for any Looney Toons releases. Why couldn't they do what Sony did for The Three Stooges, or what Shout Factory does for almost any release? Mill Creek and Echo Bridge do better jobs releasing stuff they have the rights to than Warner Brothers has done with Looney Tunes.

This is disgraceful. How WB continues to utilize this practice is beyond me. Sony just pulled a beaut today in announcing Fantasy Island S2, the same season that was just made available last month by Shout, in being released on their MOD in September. Bottom line...any way these studios can try to milk consumers for more money and less content is just pathetic. The best thing to do...let them sit on the shelves and collect dust.

Devil's Advocate...these aren't for us. They're for casual buyers, folks that just want a few cartoons to throw in for the kids. That said, they could easily bump this up to 35-45 minutes and it would be a much better value.

Can you imagine a mom buying this for the kids and it's over before she's finished making them sandwiches? No one expects only 20 minutes of content. The runtime is printed in small black type on a red background.

^ Meh, the kids will just watch it over and over and over and over, anyway.

It's also for the hardcore buyers that'll buy anything.

I can imgine Shout must be pissed. Shame since they did a good job at a good value for the Barney Miller complete set and I was hoping the same for The Jeffersons.

Now I've heard that Sony/Shout are releasing S3 of Fantasy Island on 10/23/2012 so who knows what to believe anymore.
