The Glass House (ABC) - Summer 2012

With all the Big Brother fans here, I'm surprised there is no thread for The Glass House yet. CBS is trying to get a ruling that prevents ABC from running the show but so far has been unsuccessful.

For those that care, there seem to be a bunch of pretty hot women (including one who's posed for Playboy) and they've already had them in bikinis on the show. Plus it is in HD! If BB isn't in HD this year, it will really make CBS look behind the times.

I think the show is only on ABC for 1 hour a week, but there are free live feeds that appear to be active from 11PM - 3AM EST every night. Viewers can vote on the website to influence the house. http://glass-house.abc.go.com/shows/...view-and-vote/

Plus no Chenbot!

Watching it now. Had to roll my eyes at the 21 year old girl who thought the 43 year old woman was "60 or late 50's".

I wasn't sure if she was serious or just trying to be funny/snarky.

When I watched this show, I did have a sense of deja vu, like it was a mismash of Big Brother and the Hunger Games.

Re: The Glass House (ABC) - Summer 2012

From the show's FAQ:

When does the live streaming occur?

Four hours on Monday evening from 11pm-3am ET - and also Tuesday thru Thursday from 3pm-4pm ET.

...and that's the problem, - I think it has potential, but ABC has to commit more if they want this to work.

I doubt I will be watching this, but a note to Alex: being mean to people for the sake of being mean doesn't make you a villain, it just makes you a douche.

Re: The Glass House (ABC) - Summer 2012

Wow, the streaming options are laughable. So I can watch 4 hours in the middle of the night Mondays, or one hour per day in the middle of the afternoon? Right.

I don't think BB has much to worry about after watching last nights episode.

I'm not a fan of reality tv, but Steph is a friend from college, so I'll definitely be watching this.

Re: The Glass House (ABC) - Summer 2012

Finally watched this off of the DVR.

It's like Big Brother gone retarded... marvel at that concept!

Did manage to look up Joy's Playboy pictures. She looks better on TV than she does in Playboy.

Alex isn't a villain. He's just an asshole. If I was in the house with him, I would assume that he was secretly supposed to get someone to take a swing at him. I'm assuming his strategy will backfire because he's not entertaining to watch at all.

The 21 year old Psychology graduate who could not name a Psychologist was hilarious!

What is Joy's last name? Month/Year of pictorial?

A search via Google.com using key words "joy glass house" turned up her real name as "Joy Glass".

Here's the link to Google so you can find the pictorials. Consider typing or copying and pasting "joy glass playboy pictorials" into the little window below the Google banner and then push the "return" key on your keyboard (it's to the far right, just above the "shift" key).

The results should appear in roughly .24 seconds.

(Paraphrasing)

Girl 1: "So, you're an art history major. Who's your favorite artist?"
Girl 2: "Ummm. Aaaahh.....
Girl 1: "Well, name any artist you've studied"
Girl 2: "Well, ummmm..... aaahhh..."
Girl 1: "Are you sure you're an art history major?"
Girl 2: "Well, no. I'm actually a psychology major but didn't want to tell anyone in case they would be intimidated"
Girl 1: "Oh. Who is your favorite psychologist?"
Girl 2: "Ummmm, aaaahhh....ummmm"
Girl 1: "Name any psychologist you've studied"
Girl 2: "Aaaah, ummmmm....."
Girl 1: "Oh, just name any psychologist!"
Girl 2: "Ahhh, Dr. Phil?"

Girl 2 is purty, though.

Re: The Glass House (ABC) - Summer 2012

Has anyone been watching this over the summer besides me? I would think with all the Big Brother fans here there might be some interest.

Anyway, the season (likely series) finale is tonight. And CBS has dropped its lawsuit against the show because it did so poorly and probably won't return.

Re: The Glass House (ABC) - Summer 2012

I've been watching it. It's nice that its only one night a week. It was a nice distraction before Big Brother started, and I have enjoyed it. More than one night a week would be a tough sell. If it doesn't come back I wouldn't miss it.

Re: The Glass House (ABC) - Summer 2012

I've been watching it. It's an hour a week with nothing else on.

I was sort of rooting for Stephanie; lame the way she took herself out, but I can understand her reasoning. I was sort of surprised to read on her bio that her favorite book was "Atlas Shrugged." She seemed way too pleasant of a person to be a Randroid.

One thing I've noticed about Glass House is that much of it seems scripted and forced. Maybe it's just a trick of the editing, but it just seems like there's something fake about the drama, like all of these people are just acting and go somewhere else when the cameras are off.

I quit after a few weeks when I figured the annoying blonde stalker girl or Jeff Schroeder 2.0 was gonna win.

How the hell did America vote for him to win? I would have thought especially after them showing him the footage, his whole showmance with Erica would have blown his chances right out of the water.

Wow, I just recognized Jeffrey from TGH standing behind Jimmy Kimmel as he was introducing Vampire Weekend on his show tonight. I wonder what that says about me...
