Spec Ops: The Line
Anyone getting this? Game releases on June 26th. Amazon's offering a $10 credit.

The demo's out now. It was much better than I expected. I wasn't planning on getting it. But after that demo, I might take a chance and pre-order.
This video picks up right after the demo, and shows the next 15 minutes.

Possibly (but no certainty), I will get to review this one. Which would be fantastic but I'm not very good at military first person shooters. However, if there are decent (and not punk 10 year olds) people who are willing to help me out with some multiplayer testing, feel free to send me a friend request.

I like Noan North but I wish they had him use one of the different voices he can do. The "everyman" voice is too closely associated with Drake.

Anyone play this yet? There's been a ton of marketing on G4TV and Comedy Central. I want to pick it up but something tells me it's price will fall like a stone.

A friend of mine ended up getting it because he had it on order from over a year ago when they said it was going to have 3 player coop for the game...after they took that out he forgot to cancel the preorder. He said the game is fun but not great. He also said it is about a 4 to 5 hour long game. I would wait for it to drop below 20, or rent it.

Welp, my webmaster just got my copy and I should have it by Monday. I hope this puppy is good, but I am concerned my "military tactics" are going to be pretty poor. I need like Rambo mode

Re: Spec Ops: The Line
Just finished the single player game. Decided to get this for $20 instead of buying MOH for $60.
It was decent. The controls and mechanics were solid. It kinda plays like a combo of COD and Gears. And the storyline was very interesting. This is probably the grimmest game I've every played. I felt like taking a shower with some bleach and a brillo pad after finishing. Seriously brutal.
On the downside, the gameplay was just average. The "tactics" were completely unnecessary. I only gave my squad a command once or twice in the beginning, then totally forgot about it and just Rambo'ed the rest of the game. You get a couple morality choices during the game, but they don't do anything to affect the overall gameplay. And as corridor shooters go, this one felt really claustrophobic at times.
Overall, it was worth the $20. The storyline was certainly memorable. But after finishing, I don't have an urge to go back and replay any of the levels. A good way to blow off 8 hours, but nothing more.

Re: Spec Ops: The Line
Agreed. I ran through it yesterday, and I can easily say its the best shooter I have played. By the end I was a little disturbed by some of the choices I made. With 4 different endings, I need to replay the last level and epilogue also.
