Information from Annie Chu (http://www.examiner.com/article/june-10-16-2012-6-10-6-16-best-buy-ad-prices-for-dvd-and-blu-ray-deals).

There is an online coupon for "GCB", "Scandal" and "Missing" save $10.00. Doesn't appear to be live yet.

Don't know, might bite "Immortals" for ten bucks well that and "Drive", other than that. Nope.

Unrelated, rewatched "Pump Up The Volume" a few days back. Haven't seen it in years. Stills holds up.

I would guess the Best Buy exclusive bonus footage is only for the Blu-ray 3D pack, but the Blu-ray 3D does include the Blu-ray. Does that make sense?

Hit a BB store today. The film selection keeps shrinking, & cd's are almost non existent.

The horror section is weak at my store. I remember when it was nearly one whole isle.

Overall the selection is less.

Missing was a great little series up until:

the last 5 minutes of the season finale, which ended with a cliffhanger.

It's stings because the show isn't coming back for a 2nd season.

If you have nothing to watch and didn't watch it on ABC, it's a worthy watch IMO for only $10. Lots of action and great scenery.

I just rented Ghost Rider from my local video store, which put it out early last week. A little hokey compared to the 1st part. I have the 1st on BD and I'm a completist, but I will wait until it drops below $10 before I get it. I would love to watch the 90 minute making of documentary on it.

Same here. I'll grab the sequel on BD when it's $10 or less. Given the anti-Nicolaus-Cage-movie sentiment lately, I'd think that should happen by Christmas. I know absolutely nothing about the movie and haven't heard any comments about it. All I know is he's in it, and if it's even half as good as the first one (which wasn't great but not bad either) then it'll be worth watching.

$9.99 for GCB? I'll definitely bite on that. I tuned in just for Kristen Chenoweth, but it was funny as hell and the whole cast was great. Loved the Donna Mills guest shot. I was sure I'd be watching this on Sundays for the next 7 years, but ABC cancelled it. (There's a petition over at SaveGCB.com.)

I agree, I loved the show and still don't understand why ABC cancelled it. I hated the cliffhanger since now we will never know what happened.

Snausages,

NBC blew it bigtime when they canceled this show. It was a result of stupid decision-making by their previous management in February 2009 I believe, that canceled the show despite the fact it won its timeslot on the last night it aired...and on a Friday night. The producer released the conclusion of the show through his Twitter a year or so ago and it had some interesting storylines to boot, and we even ran a campaign to help bring the show back but all that effort went for naught and NBC hasn't recovered since. We spread the word around how incompetent NBC and their people were and the ratings even to this day are reflecting that. We even asked if there would be a two-hour movie just to clear up the storylines and to bring proper closure to the show, but they said no dice so we got the word out to boycott the network and look at them now...from first to fourth to sometimes, fifth place in the ratings. Those managers/decision-makers have since been fired from the network.

Yet another fine example of when a network makes incomprehensible decisions. Honestly, I haven't watched NBC much since then. The last show was Chuck. I go back and forth between CBS and ABC..and sometimes FOX.

Do you have a link to the Twitter post by any chance? I would really appreciate it!

Thanks John/snausages! I see where Immortals and Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes are starting to be on sale for a semi-decent price. That's encouaging. Other than that I don't see anything of interest to me in next week's ad.

Regarding NBC (and all the other stations out there that air a decent series then cut it off at the knees just as it's getting started), I don't even watch shows on regular TV anymore. We ditched cable several years ago, and only watch regular TV for the local news. Anything we deem worthy enough to watch, we'll buy on DVD. Suits regularly screw up a good thing, so screw regular TV. -kd5-

I've heard that once NBC got Sunday Night Football, the NFL asked them to move Las Vegas (then on Mondays) since they weren't comfortable airing commercials about a show set in a casino during the game. Or something to that effect. However it happened, once it was shipped off to Friday, it stopped being a priority for them.

Not just this show Smearkase, a few others that had loyal followings like American Dreams and such and that started a trend and NBC has been in the crapper since. I wasn't implying that as you might think, but definitely it started a chain reaction of how stupid their management was for CXLing this and a few other shows that had a loyal following and decent ratings and they haven't recovered since from that. Just go back in history when CBS canceled all the popular comedy shows and replaced them with dramas and such and most of those execs got ran out of town in the 1970s. Check the history from 2008 to now for NBC as to their downward trend and there's your proof in the pudding.

You are correct in what you say Rexxriot...the NFL forced NBC to move Vegas from Monday to Friday nights but the show had their loyal viewers and followed it to that night and time. All us fans just wanted a conclusion to the show and yet NBC couldn't do that much for us fans? Then to hell with NBC!

Sometimes shows get canceled without proper closure. It's not the first time, and it won't be the last time. I agree it sucks, but it's the nature of the business. What I am disappointed in was they said they wanted to have Josh Duhamel and Molly Sims pop up on Knight Rider the next season to show that their characters were okay, but that never happened. Hinting at giving us even a little form of closure and then not delivering is worse than just canceling a show without closure. And it's not the only time NBC has done something like that (American Dreams, Heroes).

Yes sir, and hence why nobody bothers watching NBC anymore, since they're full of reality nonsense and shows they never give a chance to gel or to bring closure to. Just a screwed-up network, if you ask me. CNN is getting to that point as well and rumor has it they might want Jeff Zucker to run it...sure, right into the ground, that is.

It's too bad that NBC airs two of the best comedies on TV, Community and Parks and Rec. It would be nice if more people watched them.

Couldn't get the ABC TV DVD deal as the Store Manager said he wouldn't combine the coupons and the Buy 2 save $10/Buy 3 save $15 offer. He pointed out the printed coupon says it can not be combined with any other promotion. So good luck to anyone trying that they get a nicer cashier/manager than I got.

A typical YMMV BB experience. Yesterday I was passing by the BB store I normally have so much trouble with, and the cashier I got (the only 1 there at the moment) took all 3 $10 coupons with the $15 off offer + another BD with a $3 off coupon and never gave me any problems. A couple years ago my chance of success doing this there would've been almost zero, but now it seems to be almost 50%. I saw the mean manager there too, but fortunately he never got involved. I think maybe he hasn't been indoctrinating new hires about no coupons on sale items as thoroughly as he used to.

If you get denied, you can try customer service next although they usually back up cashiers. It's almost like if anyone raises an excuse not to do it, they'll all latch onto that excuse, but if the cashier doesn't care then it'll go through fine. You'd have to go back to that store and try again when there are different employees. That's why whenever I try a BB coupon deal it's always when I'm passing by the store anyway so I don't waste gas (just a little time) if they say no. Had this deal been listed in BB's ad we could've PM'd it at Target. Until our next coupon adventures at BB-YMMV...
