Video Game Otters: What 360 game should I play next?
I have a huge pile of shame I'm working with here. I'm one of those "one game at a time" people, and I just finally finished off GTA IV and the two expansion packs. So instead of just trying to decide what to play next, I figured I'd get some feedback.
I'm listing all of my unplayed games on here (minus Arcade games), except for sequels (i.e. I have ME listed but not ME2). Feel free to vote and tell me why I should play the game you mention!
Alan Wake
Assassin's Creed (also have 2)
Batman: Arkham Asylum (also have Arkham City)
Battlefield 3
Bioshock 2
Borderlands
Bully
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (I have 2 & 3 as well)
Castlevania: Lords of Shadow
Civilization: Revolution
Crackdown
Dead Island
Dead Rising (also have 2)
Dragon Age; Origins (don't have the expansion pack, but I do have DA2)
Fallout 3 (also have New Vegas)
Fight Night; Round 4
Gears of War 3
Ghostbusters: The Video Game
Halo Wars
Halo 3: ODST
Halo: Reach
Lego Batman
Lost: Via Domus
Lost Odyssey
Marvel: Ultimate Alliance 2
Mass Effect (also have 2)
Ninja Gaiden II
Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (also have Skyrim)
The Orange Box
Portal 2
Red Dead Redemption
Resident Evil 5
Rise of Nightmares
Saint's Row 2 (also have 3)
Star Wars: Force Unleashed 2
Transformers; War for Cybertron
Viva Pinata (also have 2)
To clarify, I've played parts of Oblivion and Dead Rising before, but stopped playing and never did finish. I'd probably start over for either of them,

Portal (The Orange Box) and Portal 2
These are lots of fun. You'll finish them quickly because they're not too long, and you won't want to put them down.

After something long as GTA?
Ghostbusters
Short & fun. A good palette cleanser. After that I would tackle Crackdown or Dead Rising before getting to some of the bigger games on the list.

I should clarify that I have already beaten Portal...and definitely am thinking I'm not ready for RDR yet, as I want to get a 'different type' of game for my next game.

That's basically a laundry list of all the best games, so it's hard to say where to start. I'd have to second the Red Dead Redemption suggestions (and it's entirely different from Portal, by the way), or go with Fallout 3 if that doesn't suit you right now.

I'd second Ghostbusters. You can beat the game within a couple of hours and for a fan of the films, it's the sequel we'll never get.
My next choices would be:
1. The Orange Box & Portal 2
2. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (and its sequels)
3. Halo: Reach
Portal 2 was one of the best games released last year (if not ever) and proves why Valve is the best company out there making games.
Without exploring multiplayer, you can beat each of the Modern Warfare games within five-to-six hours.
If you're a fan of the franchise, Halo: Reach actually has the best story that's actually emotionally engaging.
If you just finished GTA IV, I don't think "long" (but great) games like Fallout 3, Red Dead Redemption or Skyrim are the next obvious choice.

Then take a break from the Orange Box and hit Read Dead Redemption. Then, if you haven't played 'em yet, go back to the box and run through the Half-Life games.
Only enter into the Elder Scrolls games if you're ready to devote almost all your gaming time to them. Addictive is an understatement.

Completely meaningless side note...whatever the next game I play is will net me my 50,000th achievement point, as I think I'm between 30-50 points away.

Definitely a fan of Halo. How long would Portal 2 take? Already beat the first Portal, and loved it...that's the only game I actually played on Orange Box. I'm definitely liking the idea of going through Ghostbusters...that seems like a fun diversion from what I've been doing.

Re: Video Game Otters: What 360 game should I play next?
That's not too bad...so maybe I'll go through both Ghostbusters and Portal 2 before tackling my next big game.
Chimel - I usually like to space out 'genres'...so if I do MW, I'll play something else before doing MW2, and so on. I did World at War and Black Ops back to back and wanted to puke at the thought of doing another COD, so I jumped into GTA.

My immediate response would be Red Dead Redemption because it is such a great great game, but if you are just coming off GTA IV you may get burned out on that formula. So maybe go Batman:Arkham Asylum first and then play Red Dead.

They should be played in order. Alphabetical, release date, or some other logical method. Asking for recommendations is too haphazard.
Collect all available information. Enter all of it into a spreadsheet. Sort by relevant headings. Print it out. Follow the list.

Lost: Via Domus.
Then you can play a new game 1 day later and feel good about finishing something on your list.

that is one hell of a list...I mean, there is no way you can get a clear answer...you should do it as a poll, and just play what ever is picked by us no matter what it is...
but just to make it easier...play Saint's Row 2 first...

You should play Resident Evil 5 but only of you have someone to play co-op with. I still haven't played it but would be up for it whenever you decide to start playing.

I really enjoyed Crackdown, but it feels like a game that you should play along with something else. It gets very samey, and I don't think it would be as enjoyable if you just burn through it.

Alan Wake
Borderlands
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
Gears of War 3
Mass Effect 2
The Orange Box
Portal 2
Those are my favorite games on your list, I'd dive into Portal 2 first, it's short and memorable.

As much as I enjoy SR2, if he wants something different that GTA for his next game, it's probably not the best choice.
I'll throw in another vote for Ghostbusters. Its a fun game and pretty short, good to cleanse your palate, unless you're an acheivement whore. The online cheevos are a real pain in the ass.
