I was just playing "The Who Sell Out" today and noticed Heinz Baked Beans and Jaguar were there also - maybe in this episode they land the Odorono account.

Kind of a heart wrenching episode. The firm crossed a line using Joan like that and then cross cutting it with Don's pitch was beautiful filmmaking. I love this show so much.

Peggy leaves to gain retain her self-respect. Joan loses hers to stay.
Megan ever pushes Don to new and uncomfortable places. Her ability to clearly speak up for herself is both challenging and refreshing. I like it because it isn't like, "I am woman, hear me roar." It's more like, "I love you and want you to be happy, but I'm a human being just like you with the same right to the pursuit of happiness." I don't know how it's going to end up, but I like watching these people navigate differences.

My favorite part of that segment was when they cut back to Joan's perspective of her scene with Don, and we realize that the scene took place after she had already sold herself out.

Yeah watching that the first time I was wondering whether she had already gone through with it. But man, they way they did Peggy's exit was definitely a series highlight.

The look Don gave Joan when the partners met in Roger's office at the end conveyed so much....it's part of what makes this show so amazing.
Same here. I was cringing at the thought.
I was ready to curse my TV if the writers had her take a dive down that elevator shaft.

Love how Joan covered herself in an emerald-colored robe when Don visited, covering her up entirely. And how many rooms Don walked out of during the majority of the program, while in his last scene he was left in one.
The understated brilliance in this program cannot be overstated. This could be one of the series best episodes.

Yes, they sure did--prostituting out one of their most faithful, long-time employees for a client. Really cringe-worthy she went through with it, and the expressions on Don's face told it all. Plus now they'll never know if they would've gotten it based on talent alone, or if it was Joan's indecent proposal night that made the difference... The whole thing made very real uncomfortable and seemed a little out of place. Still, the way they played it with the flashback was brilliant.

The scene with Peggy and Don at the end is one of the best in the series, IMO. Also, the scene where Don is pitching Jaguar was amazing.

The moment I knew Joan was taking the 5%, all I heard in my head was, "Some might cost a little, some might cost a lot. But I'm the Million Dollar Man....and you will be bought." Cue the evil DiBiase laughter.
