Wow, the Spanish soap opera stuff was some of the worst stuff I've ever seen on the show. Dangerously close to jumping the shark.

Yeah that Spanish soap opera stuff was la,e but I liked everything else. Some good laughs but it was heavy on the emotional stuff, that's not a bad thing.

This is definitely no longer the best comedy. Parks and Rec has that title to itself in my opinion. I actually prefer New Girl and Girls to this now.

I enjoyed the episode, I think partly because they let the season end on what was one of my favorite scenes of the season, I loved them going over all of the mail Luke intercepted.

Have to agree. The show really slipped this season.

As soon as Gloria started complaining about nausea, I figured she'd turn up pregnant. Is she in real life too?

I thought the telenovela stuff was hilarious. But this comes from having quite a few hispanic friends who watch the stuff every day without fail.

I forget where the college is that Haley got into. Is it a fictional TV college that will keep her on the show?

The shows quality is down and the new episodes seem really really spaced apart this year.

The telenovela stuff just didn't fit in this style of show. It's like the clown stuff from earlier this season... in both cases it went too over the top for a show that's for the most part grounded in reality. A silly reality, yes, but usually plausible within the accepted personalities of the characters. As much as I love the absurdist comedy in shows like 30 Rock and Community, I just think it has no place here.

The telenovela angle required you to know and understand how the real ones are in Central/South America so you get the joke that this is all a piss take on those shows. How many Americans would know? So that was the risk they took.
I thought the parents' poor handling of their daughter moving in with her BF was lamers, TBH.

I didn't think this was the best episode of the series, but it definitely wasn't the worse.
Personally I thought the telenova stuff was hilarious, but I didn't like how Cam and Mitch were thrown into the mix. Them possibly adopting the little boy almost felt like a plot device for the telenova jokes and that kinda annoyed me until the end.
And while I think Gloria pregnant is funny and can be used for a couple jokes - I just can't see her and Jay spending seasons 5+ raising a new born...

Exactly.
I had a sense of deja vu when Alex's date showed. They keep lifting bits from the Middle. (as well as other shows, but it's really noticeable when it's your lead in.)
I really liked the tele novella bit. Great set up & pay off.

I doubt they would try to write a real pregnancy into the storyline. Ed O'Neil can attest that it is a bad idea from when they tried it on Married With Children and Katey Sagal had her tragic mishap.

They might pull the false alarm. I like to believe they are smart enough not to add another baby to the mix.
