Awhile back I had the 'Unreadable Disc' which turned out to be a small crack on the inside ring. i found a solution/fix for it. But now my GOW3 disc is giving me fits. The first time happened on Sunday. I was playing GOW3 and we suddenly lost power. When we got it back I tried playing GOW again but was getting the 'Unrecognizable Disc' error. Then I remembered seeing something about clearing the system cache which I did. Powered down and put the game in. Saw the game, said a update was available and which I did as well. Played perfectly the rest of the day and night.
Well this morning I put it in and got the same error..."Unrecognizable Disc". I tried three times and same thing. I examine it and saw nothing like a crack or anything even with a magnifying glass. Cleaned it twice and nothing. Then tried another game and it fired up right away.
I don't think it's the laser as much as something like a corrupted file of the game or on the hard drive. I do have the game loaded on the hard drive. I think I need to either delete the game off the drive, pull the HD out and play the game or delete something else in the game directory. Everything I've seached for refers to cleaning the disc or cleaning the lens on the DVD drive. Thanks....
