Another excellent episode. I was really hoping to see Savonarola burned at the stake in this episode though.
Why is the kid being fed the poison by della Rovere? Didn't he already commit to dying for the cause? Why build immunity? So he doesn't drop dead immediately after tasting the Pope's food I'm guessing.

Most likely to build up some tolerance to Cantarella so when the kid eat the poisoned food he doesn't just go down immediately to a lethal dose. Anyway, I think you already answered for yourself...

I want to know what the plan is to get the kid in to sub in for the Pope's current taster. He didn't seem to enjoy eating sardines too much.

But I still think there'd be an immediate reaction no matter what. May not be death but a reaction nonetheless especially since it will be in a much higher dosage.

So far in the show, the only person that didn't have an immediate reaction to Canteralla was Prince Djem. But he also went down fast about 10-12 seconds after he drank the poisoned tea.
