This show is so gay now, I can't even imagine what the episode title is referring to...

That's at least two of us who didn't have any trouble figuring out what the colloquialism "choke" means.

Tonight's episode achieved an almost TROLL 2 level of unintentional hilarity.

First one I've watched in awhile (I gave up at the beginning of the season). The Bieste stuff had potential, but felt too "tonight on a very special...Glee" if you know what I mean.

And sorry Kurt doing Crawford? I don't think so. His vocal range is more suited for Christine Daaé.

Just when you thought every issue had been covered on Glee, you get a wife beating story and a bunch of Puck stuff that makes me dislike the character even more.
This show sure is depressing now.
At least they gave Irish guy a line or two.

Re: Glee -- "Choke" -- 5/01/12

i have not watched in awhile and sure picked a humdinger to come back to.

The lea michelle crying faces are going to give the "sad dawson" meme a run for its money.

i thought the show was about singing, and all i have seen were poor afterschool specials on don't hate the gays, teen suicide, don't text and drive, don't beat your big fat wife, and songs i don't know because i don't listen to Z-100.

if they want to keep me at least have some heather morris shaking her ass stuff to make things fun.

i am not against issues being presented and attention being drawn to the topics, i would just ask that they don't do it in goofy ways. This show was must watch tv for me once, i don't get how they bungled it this badly.

Re: Glee -- "Choke" -- 5/01/12

How the mighty have fallen. Here is a comparison of the "first week of May" episodes Glee has aired over the past three seasons:

S1, Ep. 17 (5/4/10): 11.62 million viewers, 4.9 in 18-49 demo
S2, Ep. 19 (5/3/11): 8.85 million viewers, 3.7 in 18-49 demo
S3, Ep. 18 (5/1/12): 5.95 million viewers, 2.4 in the 18-49 demo

Unless last night's episode is adjusted upward, it will become the lowest rated episode of the entire series (and the first one to go below 6 million).

I wonder if it can last more than 1 more season...

Re: Glee -- "Choke" -- 5/01/12

I was happy to see Puck fail.

I was actually kinda sad for Rachel and thought the choke job was not like her in the least.

I had to laugh at Coach getting hit.

Terrible episode. This show has really dropped in quality. I'll finish out this season, and then I'm done.

Yeah, that ugly bitch deserved it.

If she were pretty it would be terrible, but she's ugly so it's fine.

My wife and I said the same thing tonight. Another Ryan Murphy show ruined by his massive bald-headed ego.

I caught the last minute of this show as I started New Girl...WTF is going on? Rachelle looked like she had been kicked by a donkey and Puck committing suicide? Shit, Fox, put this show out of it's misery.

This is the first episode in a while that I liked, but yep. I was having a conversation with someone about the show and it's amazing how far into the ground they've run the show. While I understand the logic of having some of the students graduate, I think it's pretty much killed the show knowing that most of them are leaving. And even if they don't leave, they'll have to come up with stupid reasons to have them back.

Re: Glee -- "Choke" -- 5/01/12

And they'll probably still not win the music competition. But, they'll always be friends forever anyway. The Glee club thing and winning nationals was what the show used to be about and what sucked me into watching. Now, it doesn't seem to matter and every possible dysfunction imaginable has been flung into the scripts.

Re: Glee -- "Choke" -- 5/01/12

Not sure if New Directions will win Nationals (I don't really care, to be honest, since I don't watch the show anymore and only now check out the new songs on iTunes every week), but I'm sure Rachel's audition choke will be fully redeemed at Nationals because she is supposedly singing:

Spoiler:
"It's All Coming Back To Me Now" by Celine Dion

It's a bombastic, melodramatic tour de force that could easily stun the judges (and Lea Michele has the voice to knock it out of the park). And I'd be willing to bet that Whoopi Goldberg will just happen to be at Nationals, hear Rachel do this incredible solo, and accept her into NYADA.

That can't happen, since Lea is already confirmed to be staying on next season.

Re: Glee -- "Choke" -- 5/01/12

Dragon Tattoo, Chris Colfer also announced he would be returning for S4 (as did Lea Michele, Cory Monteith and Naya Rivera), and it looks like he'll get accepted to NYADA, so Rachel could easily get accepted as well.

Gizmo, having Rachel (and possible Kurt, Finn and/or Santana) working at the school would make it easier for them to continue churning out songs! Or maybe both Rachel and Kurt go to NYADA, and Finn decides to go to New York as well (and Mr. Shue finds a teaching job in NY, etc.).

Re: Glee -- "Choke" -- 5/01/12

Just watched this. I thought it was a decent episode. I agree with what everyone said except for the stuff about Bieste deserving it, joking or not . I think I'm pretty much at the point I focus on the things I like and block out or FF through the crap.
There were a lot of funny lines and I laughed several times. (Black Sue describing O.R.Sue's birth, I've got a tent you can wear, Did he break his hand?)
Chris was horrendous doing Crawford but was terrific doing the Man from Oz number.
Puck>FF. Rachel>FF
Chord in the gym>RR+Pause!
Loved the numbers the girls did together. Bought Shake it out. It's a good alternative to the original that is so great.
Whoopi make everything better.
