looking forward to it. Nas is one of the best ever.
But the albums tend to decline in quality the older an artist gets.

Not really. His last two solo albums Untitled and Hip Hop Is Dead were very good. He isn't selling as much as he used to but the quality is still there.

That double LP he released a few years back was good, IMO.

He is, but I feel like Nas has been notoriously plagued by wack beats. I don't know what it is, but he just seems to get stuck with a bunch of wack beats on his albums. With that in mind I'm over the moon by what I'm hearing coming off of this new album. The lyrics have always been there, but Nas sounds a bit hungrier than normal, and the beats are tough. Nasty is especially gut punching.

Just bought the deluxe version off iTunes and gave it a listen. I think it's excellent and it is probably one of his best albums. His lyrics are top notch and the production is good. For the most part, Life Is Good avoids the wack beats that have been a problem on some of his past albums. The third verse on World's An Addiction is amazing and probably one of the best verses I have heard in a while.

Nas is my favorite hip-hop lyricist next to Eminem, and to me, he's never disappointed. Some of his albums have more fluff than others (Street's Disciple was excellent but a letdown from God's Son, IMO), but he's easily the most consistent artist I've ever listened to.
I really dig "Life Is Good". I think it's got some excellent production values and a lot of deep and meaningful songs. I thought his Untitled album was one of the best hip-hop albums of the last decade and this was a great follow up.
With this being his last Def Jam release, I wonder what label he'll go to next. Back to Columbia, perhaps?
