Re: The Killing -- "Ghosts of the Past" -- 4/22/12

Very interesting twist tonight. Stan is going to be pissed!

Just a preliminary guess, but maybe Mitch had an affair with Janek. Then Rosie found out he was her father and had her killed to cover it up?

Just give Darren a gun and have him end it all. I know they eventually want to show who set him up, but his storyline is fucking depressing. Did they really need to make him in a wheel chair? I was sad when he pissed on himself while talking to that lady outside.

All signs are pointing to the Mayor setting up Darren. Gil (Holder's sponsor and a dirty cop) faked the photos of Darren is working with Abani, who is the Mayor's campaign director. That was the dude that Jamie punched in the gym a few weeks ago.

Loved Holder's interrogation of Alexi.

Yeah, I'm thinking of leaning towards Janek as Rosie's real father.

I loved when Alexi called Holder Slim Shady. LOL.

Was the girl at the end approaching the car the girl Mrs. Larsen met in the diner? Looked kind of like her but I was unclear.

I'm probably one or two episodes from dropping the show. I know, I know. Anyway, I was able to watch this episode in under 30 minutes, FFWD is my friend, so I may end up watching recaps in Youtube or something like that until the end. LOL!

Could have sworn it was Mitch's sister. My girlfriend turned to me and asked the same thing.

Fixed. That's my guess anyway. And gives the show reason to keep Darren around if Rosie was his love child.

^^ That's a good guess too.

Jamie would have motive since he's so loyal to Darren and a scandal with a love child would wreck his career.

I remember thinking that it seemed as if Darren and Mitch knew one another when they bumped into each other at the market...and Rosie's appearance in the campaign photo could suggest that she knew that Darren was her dad.

Cool. I change my mind and I'm going to go with your theory. It makes alot more sense than mine.

HaHa, your theory is the theory I came up with after watching the last episode also. Also, the woman approaching the car at the end was Mitch's sister. I am guessing it had something to do with the call she received after Stan kissed her.

It was interesting how they paralleled the teen getting in the car outside the restaurant and Terry getting into the car. Was that one of the Richmond cars?

Wait. Weren't they (Mitch's sister and the nosering chick from the diner) getting into the same car? The Lincoln Towncar that Alexi said Rosie was afraid of?

This show is just a straight, boring rendition of Twin Peaks. Teen girl murder mystery. Promiscuity. Secret life. Prostitution ring. Casino. Just waiting for Leo and Jacques Renault to make an appearance. If Stan is the killer, I'll be pissed.

I don't think it was the same car. The car that the teen got into was an older car.

It looked like the same car to me too. It was definitely the mystery black car that Terry got into. I'm liking the Rosie was Darren's daughter theory.

I watched it again and this is the case. They are both separate cars. The one the teen girl gets into is much older with non-tinted windows, and obviously the teen girl Mitch meets has nothing to do with the case. I think they intentionally used a black town car for her as an allusion to the greater mystery, dangers that reside everywhere, and just to fuck with us.

Re: The Killing -- "Ghosts of the Past" -- 4/22/12

I didn't bother going back to look but I did think they were different but then changed my mind after seeing Terry picked up. Wasn't it stated in Season 1 that both Rosie and Terry were involved with Beau Soleil? So I made the connection that the nose-ring chick was recruited as well. Why else would they sequence those scenes like that other than the above theory of just dark foreboding?

One thing that annoys me is that the writers try so hard to shoehorn Linden's personal life into the show but then never show her ever doing anything personal. She has to go home sometime. She changes and I assume showers and eats.

And why make a comment like this when you've added nothing worthwhile to the context of the discussion going on?

I want to know how she gets in and out of those giant-ass turtlenecks. My running theory is that Jack sews her in in the morning, and she just cuts them off at night.

I like the show, but Linden's personal life (or what they try to show) is probably one of the least interesting aspects of it. We all see she's a shitty mother and she and her son have a very unstable situation. They are living in motels and eating vending machine food. Why did they feel the need to throw in her ex in this episode? Just to add more unnecessary conflict?

Anyone notice Lindin's lazy eye during the interrogation scene? It was very distracting but now that I see it I can't unsee it.

At least Leyand Palmer had a little panache. Stan is just boring.
