it ended, but I though if he actually died it would have been a better ending, like they didnt have the guts to go for it

im guessing that if for some chance they wanted to do another season, that would be an excuse to bring it back

I was mostly bored during this episode.

As much as I love the show, this was kind of a weak episode. I'm not stoked on how they decided to end things. Killing him would've at least been ballsy. If he faked it then whose body was in the truck? I'm hoping for a S4 after this.

Yeah, they should have killed him.
If they want a S4, they can say it was faked.
Anyway, it wasn't that bad for a series finale.

I know what makes Kenny great is he doesn't give a shit, but would it have killed him to make the last pitch and then get April?

I thought it was a great ending to the series. His decision at the end was totally in line with his idiotque line of thinking through the series.
I also loved the Seth Rogen cameo.

Yep, they made a mistake...the last line of the episode should have been Kenny's voiceover "The end...of the book." and went to the end credits. The tacked-on "happy" ending ruined what could have been a memorable finale.

Then April asking him why it had to be that way...why he couldn't instead have stayed in the majors and her and Toby simply joined him there...and the priceless look on his face as this thought finally burrows it's way into his brain.

Yep.
I'll join the chorus as well. It would have been better had they just killed him.

The Seth Rogen cameo was probably my favorite moment of the episode.

I only watched 3-4 episodes of season 1, but decided to jump into this final season.
Even though there was an episode or 2 that was uncomfortable to watch, this was a hilarious show and I was very satisfied with this season.
The ending was fitting for this last chapter of Kenny Powers career.
 This may be silly, but my issue was Kenny playing for the generic "Texas" team in the majors. I recall in season 1, they actually used real MLB teams/licenses and I guess they didn't want to pay MLB this season.
 Loved the cameo by Seth Rogen too.

I'm pretty sure they never had the MLB license.

 Damn, your right. I just played the Pilot on HBOGo and he played for generic "Atlanta" "New York" "San Francisco" "Boston" and "Seattle"

Yeah, tough to think of being aligned with Kenny Powers' character as being in the best interests of baseball.

I agree. Even though I saw it coming from a mile away, I thought it was great that they killed Kenny off. Then I was let down when he showed up at April's.
Then April asking him why it had to be that way...why he couldn't instead have stayed in the majors and her and Toby simply joined him there...and the priceless look on his face as this thought finally burrows it's way into his brain.
Although I did think this was great and fitting.
I loved the montage sequence with the voice-over. Hawkes was great and everyone was very serious and sad and then you see Kenny's ex-girlfriend being fingered.

Him dying actually sort of made me sad. Luckily it wasn't true. Him going back to April and Toby was a complete 180 from where he started out on the series.
I think the best part of this entire season was Stevie's different wigs.

Agreed. I also think he should have thrown the final pitch.

Like Deftones, the different Stevie wigs and painted on eyebrows had me cracking up. Along with him shaving everything in the first place. Good episode, great series and if its over so be it, a fun ride.

I thought it was great that he didn't. It would have killed him if he would have failed, and if he struck him out then it would have been too happy-happy for this show. Kenny has always been self destructive, so having him walk off was perfect. He got back to the majors, so he "won" in his mind and can walk away satisfied that he left on his own terms.

This was the season finale? I didn't even realize it, although it makes sense with the way it ended.

Good point. And they also did a whole story arc this season of him fucking up and giving up a big home run and him redeeming himself by striking the guy out.
But still I would have liked it if they showed him throwing that last pitch and cutting away before showing the result of it. Though that's kind of what they did on Friday Night Lights finale.
