What types/genres of movies should I send to the troops in Afghanistan? I know I can't send porno (not allowed/they probably have tons of it already), and I have heard that horror movies are frowned upon, so what should I send? I know comedies would be great, but would it be insensitive to send stuff like Saving Private Ryan or Full Metal Jacket? I know that Stripes would be okay to send (at least to the Army, since they cooperated on the film's production), but are other military movies alright? Should I send any dramas or action films, like Gran Torino or Die Hard? How about romance films (since some soldiers will enjoy them)? I'm going to guess that westerns are okay, though.
Some movies that I am thinking of sending (that I either have or am planning to acquire for this purpose):
Talladega Nights
Toy Story and Toy Story 2
Full Metal Jacket
Apocalypse Now
A Bridge Too Far
Blazing Saddles
Caddyshack
The Hangover
The Wild Bunch
Get Smart (the movie, not the TV show)
Bullitt
Rocky Horror Picture Show
Airplane!
The Big Red One (if going to the First Infantry Division)
Again, these are only ideas, and there is no guarantee that I can definitely send all of these over. Other suggestions are welcome.
