South Park - Jewbacabra (4/4/2012)

No new thread for this yet? Glad to see a new "holiday" episode of SP. The best part was Kyle and Cartman re-enacting The Great Pumpking scene with Lucy and Linus.

I missed the best part? I guess I did not catch on to the "Great Pumpkin" scene.

I did chuckle when Cartman was recalling the Jewbacabra story and Butters screams and runs away.

This was easily the best episode of the season.

So I wonder how long Cartman will be a Jew.

There was a great pumpkin scene?

This was a good one, much better than last week.

I missed it, too. Looking back, I'm guessing it's when Kyle sees Cartman chained in the park, puts the blanket on him and walks him home? I haven't seen 'Pumpkin' in 20 years, so this is all off foggy memory.

When Kyle wakes up the next morning and walks out to free Cartman he has a bolt cutter and a blanket. He frees him and walks him asleep back to his bed where he takes of his shoes, lies him on the bed and completely covers him with the blanket. Lucy does almost the exact same thing the morning after Halloween for Linus who has fallen asleep in the pumpkin patch.

As usual a Cartman/Butters episode is always good, but this was more than that. I too am interested to see if Cartman has an angle. The last exchange has me wondering.

What show were they making fun of? It's on the History Channel right? Or Discovery, maybe TLC?

I haven't seen it but from the title of the episode they are refering to "Chupacabras" an animal said to be reported first in Puerto Rico, Mexico and the States.

Its reported the animal kills livestock and sucks its blood. The translation of the name Chupacabra means "Goat Sucker"

So I don't think its making fun of any show specially Big Foot but like I said I haven't seen it yet. Will watch it tonight.

Once you see it, I think you will take back your last statement about Big Foot.

Re: South Park - Jewbacabra (4/4/2012)

Kind of strange to end the episode with Cartman ostensibly Jewish, I wonder how they plan on developing that.

I also wasn't sure if they were singling out Judaism for having a violent God or just all Abrahamic religions. It seems like they were trying to make a point but I'm not sure I really got it.

IMO the best of this season so far, although not a big fan of the ending.

Maybe I just wasn't in the right mood because even though on paper this episode sounds great it never really hooked me.

Yeah, I, too, wonder if Cartman's newfound Judaism is going to stick or if it's just a one-off gag.

So, they've pretty much given up on skewering current events?

Re: South Park - Jewbacabra (4/4/2012)

I loved the part where Cartman was in ancient Egypt and the Pharaoh is a really nice guy. God won''t punish us but I feel bad for these frogs. Then Cartman goes down to play with a lamb then the Jews grab it and slit it's neck so they can put the blood on the door frame.

The episode was hit and miss for me. The season hasn't been bad so far, but it hasn't been too memorable either.

Another lame episode.

Matt & Trey are just phoning it in I guess.

Re: South Park - Jewbacabra (4/4/2012)

I finally got to see this one. I liked it, but it wasn't my favorite of the season. I didn't laugh one time, but I guess I liked the charm of it. Shows you what a true friend Kyle really is even through all of Cartman's crap.
