Slash Film have posted up an article relating to a new project from Harmony Korine entitled “Springbreakers.” According to the site, James Franco and Emma Roberts are in talks to play roles in this new feature project.
The site offers a synopsis for the film:
[Spring Breakers] follows four college-aged girls who rob a fast food restaurant to afford spring break in Florida, only to get arrested upon their arrival… Alien, a rapping drug and arms dealer, bails them out and entices them to kill his arch-rival, a murderer who is appropriately named Arch.

Just Jared is today reporting that Harmony Korine’s new project is set to start shooting on February 12th. The site also reports that “Pretty Little Liars” star Ashley Benson is replacing Emma Roberts, who dropped out of the project a few weeks ago. She will head to Florida to shoot the film alongside James Franco, “Glee”‘s Heather Morris, Selena Gomez, Vanessa Hudgens and Rachel Korine.

I'm curious if this ends up being an R rated movie. I would think not given most of the cast, but the director did direct the extreme hard R Gummo.
Also i wouldn't consider most of the female cast as 'teeny boppers' as most are in their early 20s

I am a fan of indie/alternative cinema but for the life of me I can't get into this guys films.
I have seen Gummo, Julien Donkey-Boy & Mister Lonely twice. I would have to say that those were some of the worse films I have ever seen.

I haven't seen Mister Lonely, but the other 2 were horrible. I thought Kids was pretty bad too.
