I had 2 separate accounts with the same address info but different emails and different credit cards, so I used it once on each of those.

Can you order more with different emails and the same credit card or do you have to do this Google Checkout thing (which I don't have and don't know how to use)? If it's something quick and easy I can do it but if I have to read a big subscription agreement and fill in lots of info first, it's not worth the time.

Hmmm ;)in the order to fulfillment process, once an order is payment validated and goes into fulfillment stage, companies that don't employ complex workflows have no control over the status with shipping being the only option and then a return being the customer option. Whether DD was BSing you there or not, I can't tell but it is possible in the system. If an order is in the Order Review stage still, they can reject the order there with a Cancel status and send it back to Google which will then issue the refund on the transaction because Google still has not sent the money to DD.

LADY is a significant upgrade from the old IMAGE SD which suffered from more than a few issues. But no way am I getting rid of the case which had far superior original ad art than the Blu cover. SCARLET SD also used original ad art, but so does the Blu. Neither is great art, so I will probably just sell the SD.

Not like it used to be. Used to be top of the heap. The deals (from my perspective) are much rarer now. Once in a while something comes along, but not real often. You have to dig through so much junk and/or bad prices to find anything worth ordering.

The only time I know of them having multiple coupons is when they had 20% off sales. However, their 20% off sales have sucked for so long that I totally ignore them now. The only time I ever order are on rare occasions like this, but you still never know if you'll receive what you ordered or it'll be canceled (with or without receiving an email) for whatever reason. Their order status is never correct. Last time I called them a year or two ago, I gave up after waiting on hold over an hour every time, so I figured calling them is out of the question.

Always use DD with caution. I figure one should assume anything you order from them may never ship and may never be cancellable. So I only buy cheap stuff from them I don't care whether or not I'll get.

Regarding canceling multiple orders, it'll be interesting to see if they go by payment method, name, and/or shipping address. Many people have more than 1 person living at the same address, so can each person at the same address use the coupon or just 1 per address? Knowing such things would make it easier. What's funny is DD's order status page has been broken for years, but management's priority now is to brag about how they are going to cancel everyone's order who used Google Checkout or whatever. I don't even have a Google Checkout account... don't even know what that is or how it works.

Columbia house always seems to get them back when you write return to sender. I think they put return service requested on the box. Supposedly media mail items may not be returned unless this is used on it. DD probably uses media mail.

At first, the site told me that I needed to spend more than $5 for the coupon to work. Then I was going to order 2 items, and it wouldn't let me add more than 1 item to the cart.

Ultimately, I got the code to work (1 CD for $3.49), but they lost business in the process. Another reason to add to the list of why I don't generally order from them.

I placed an order and like many of you the coupon didn't take, so i cancelled immediately, I actually send them three emails about this. In a few hours I received three cancellation emails from three different CS agents. A few days later I get a shipping email saying the blu ray has been shipped... I asked them why it wasn't canceled and they said it was cancelled but the warehouse did not receive the cancellation. They had three days to make sure the warehouse got the memo. They are sending me a return label and asking me to send back the item which is fine, but I am not 100% certain I will get my money back. What a poorly operated business.

This is not uncommon with them.

Also, if they're out of stock on an item, even though the site shows it as being in-stock, 9/10 the order doesn't really go through. If you contact customer service with your order number, they'll say they have no record of it. I had a dozen orders go like that back in February. They did it back when there was a sale on Last Temptation of Christ where you used a coupon code to get the sale price. Then they had it as a deal of the day. People shot them an email, myself included, and they reduced the price.

I got my Blu-ray today. Shows how useless their customer service is, though. I paid with PayPal and for some reason my apartment number was cut off when I made the order. I e-mailed customer service and notified them, and they replied that it was fixed.

When I looked at the address on the package, they still omitted the apartment number. And I live in a rather large complex. The only reason the package wasn't returned to them is because the mailman that delivered today knew my face and handed it to me. :lol:

In stock on their site doesn't mean anything. You have to email and ask for a real answer. Even then they won't update it to being out of stock. I can bring up a list of over a dozen movies I tried ordering in February that were listed in stock. When I got around to asking why I'm not getting them, they said they weren't in stock and they weren't getting anymore. Yet here we are in April and they haven't updated the site.

People are having alot of issues I guess. I've never had any big issues with DD. A couple of times something I ordered was on backorder long enough for me to find it at a lower or comparable price elsewhere and twice I wasn't able to cancel before shipment, bit both times I did "refused - return to sender" without a problem.
Anyway, back to this coupon sale. I did 8 orders - all on the same address using different cards between me and my wife. They all went rhrough and I've received 5 so far without any problem, 1 is on its way and 2 are on backorder.

I had a package, over a month ago, decide to take a detour and go back to their warehouse. I was already in contact with the Sales Support Supervisor about all my other issues and she said she'd fedex a new one out to me and that I should get it by Friday.

Friday comes and I get it. Problem was that it was last Friday. They did do a fedex 2 day shipment last week. I guess I was a fool for assuming she meant the upcoming Friday from over a month ago.

I responded back to her about it, including the tracking but haven't heard back. Even if she did respond back, there's no reason I should shop there again.

The couple orders I placed with the coupon in different accounts all show open. I didn't receive confirmation emails when I ordered but the orders still are there. Of course that means nothing. I see other much older orders that were fulfilled and still show open.

It's like I've said before and exactly as I knew would happen... once you place an order with DD you don't know if you'll ever get it and probably never can cancel it. However, for the ones I bought I seriously doubt they will be on sale any time soon anywhere else near those prices, so if I get them cool. If not, it's normalcy for DD. The 5 minute rule is good... never spend more than 5 minutes placing an order with them because chances are good you'll be wasting your time. In fact, ordering from DD almost feels like playing the lottery. You never know if you'll win. The downside is that it could be weeks, months, or years and someday your order might show up at your doorstep when you least expect it. That's why I rarely order anything more than $5 so if I get stuck with an extra copy someday, I can use it as a cheap gift to someone.

The downfall of trying to sneak in multiple orders combined with how DD operates.

I got my order last week. Only took a few weeks but it is like playing the lotto.

You also can't rely on the order status on your order history page. I have 26 orders that all say Open even though a bunch were cancelled and a few shipped. Based on previous experience, if you pay with paypal for items that aren't in stock, while you can see the order on your order page, customer service can't look it up on their end. You end up having to either forward your confirmation email, which in this case more often than not, never comes. When that happens you need to type out what you bought and send it to them.

If they keep going like this, I can't see them existing by the end of the year unless someone else buys them.

Interesting. I was aware that DD often shipped stuff without sending emails and I know I've ordered stuff without getting a confirmation email, but I didn't know they sometimes cancel orders without sending an email either AND and that those canceled orders would still show as Open on the order status page FOREVER. I know DD was bad, but I didn't know they were THAT bad.

So, do we all have to send an email to find out if our order is still there (and will doing so get them to scrutinize for other orders in other accounts if they missed any)? I suppose (knowing how slow they are from past experience) I should give them a few more weeks before emailing... it hasn't been a month yet and I seem to recall 1-2 months was a more typical time for slow-as-molasses DD.

By all rights I agree with Mister Peepers that DD shouldn't survive much longer if they keep doing this, but they've survived a long time and lots of other companies inexplicably survive, so who knows. My favorite example is Office Max. Except once in a blue moon clearance items I never find anything cheaper there than at Staples. I seriously buy from Office Max once per year on the free backpack week and then once more to use up those Rewards. The rest of the year their ads are jokes.

On April 9th, I ordered 2 blu's from DD for $18 and I went thru google checkout (cause for some reason I couldn't checkout thru their site,sometimes that happens for me.) and I was charged for them and have yet to see them ???....and it's been 14 days !
And in my order history, it doesn't even show up!!....so I guess if you use Google Checkout you will be charged in advance.

Arrrggghhhh....I think I'am done with these guys.

DD seriously needs to get their act together as it just seems the best way to reach these people would be through their Facebook page. That's how i had to end up taking care of one of my orders from them and believe me, they're no bargain on the prices neither. The way they package stuff as well is also a mystery as they glue the plastic of the DVD set and vacuum-seal it to the packaging and when you try to remove the film, it tears off the DVD's plastic.

In DD's defense on this one, Criterion does often use shrinkwrap instead of Y-fold seals. I've ordered from Criterion directly and received BDs in shrinkwrap.

EXACT thing happened to me. The return made it to the sorting facility (about 30 miles from DD) and then "disappeared" and they wouldn't issue a credit until the return was received. After waiting a month, I had my CC reverse the charge. Thank you Capital One.
