I'm in a casino in northwest Indiana and I saw something at a craps table I've never seen before. It's a set of three bets, called "All small, "All tall," and "All or nothing at all.". On the All small bet, you win if the shooter rolls a 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 before he rolls a 7. All tall covers 8 through 12, and the middle bet covers all ten rolls. The bets pay 34 to 1 on the easier bets and 175 to 1 on the middle bet.

I haven't done the math, but I'm sure it's just as terrible a bet as most proposition bets are at the craps table, but I've taken to throwing down a nickel between the three bets (2 on the easier bets and 1 on the middle bet). Why not -- it's just five bucks and if it hits, I've got either $70 or $175. Plus, it gives me a reason to be happy when the shooter rolls craps.

See "Small, Tall"

Never seen it before but you can be sure that any new bet added to a craps table (or any table) is a sucker bet.

A 7.something percent house edge is better odds for the player than I expected.

I'm back home now. I hit it once for $70. I probably through down roughly that much while in was playing it, so all in all, I probably broke about even on that bet. I did much better on the come bets. :)

Craps is a wonderful game. Though I've never lost so much (or won so much) in such a short time playing it. It's a hoot.

Can someone explain to me the value of a come bet? I get that it hedges against the shooter rolling a 7 and will payoff with an 11, but assuming it doesn't hit either of those, your bet is on the table for good on whatever other number the shooter rolled. Which seems kind of risky to me. I like to play the place bets so I can put them up and take them down at will.

In my (admittedly limited) experience, come bets rarely pay off and suck up your money pretty quick.

A come bet allows you to have more than one point at any given time, which allows you to bet the odds on it, which is a higher payout.

It's basically the same as a pass line bet, just after the point is established, which means, if you take odds, it's as advantageous as you can get on the craps table.

It can be disastrous, if you keep betting it and set a few numbers and that 7 hits before you make a number. I don't see why you think it's worse than place bets. If you spread the numbers after the point, and that 7 hits, you're fucked. At least with the come, you're gradually setting numbers, plus you have somewhat of a hedge.
