Synopsis:

Spoiler:
Lucifer (guest star Mark Pellegrino) drives Sam (Jared Padalecki) to the breaking point and Sam ends up in a mental hospital. Desperate to save his brother, Dean (Jensen Ackles) calls every hunter he knows for help. One of the hunters gives him the name of a healer who turns out to have a very familiar face (guest star Misha Collins). Robert Singer directed the episode written by Sera Gamble (#717).

I was so distracted by how bloated the actress playing Meg was it really took me out of the episode everytime she was on screen. I guess demons can heal everything that happens to their hosts save for water retention/weight gain.

I think they had to hit up the deux es machina machine because they had no other ideas on how to fix Sam. Oh well. Nice to see Cas back.

Rachel Miner must have Cushing's syndrome... her body was skinny, but yeah, that face was disturbing. I wish the original Meg would come back

I'm currently re-watching the show on Blu-ray and it really bums me out how far the show has fallen. The budget constraints are so obvious now compared to the first couple seasons, and the directing is just amateurish now.

At least Castiel was back, though you think they would have done more with the appearance. I have noticed they have really upped the gore during this season.

That's because everything else sucks.

Yeah, not a fan at all of the current Meg. Maybe time to put this show to rest...

Is the latest Meg worse than the last Ruby? Inquiring minds want to know. I'd put the last Ruby at 4 awfuls, and the latest Meg at 5 awfuls.

The show is grabbing at straws. It drove me crazy with Devil guy annoying Sam for the first half hour.
How bout some more money to get Bobby back?

They have run that Lucifer gimmick into the ground and the character is now actively annoying on the show. To think he was once creepy during the good seasons...

Yeah, he's more like an annoying dumbass fratboy instead someone actually scary. It makes me think one of the writers once had someone like that as a roommate back in college and is now finally basing a character on the guy.

Are you enjoying it as much as the first 5 seasons? I think my problem with the show is that I can't help but compare it to when Erik Kripke was show runner. I can't just judge it on its own merits, unfortunately. I don't know if the show is just poor right now, or whether it's just poor in comparison to its own highs.

Both.

I'm gonna finish out the season and then I'm done.
It's such a chore to get through at this point.

Not enjoying it as much, but I am enjoying it wayyyy more than Alcatraz, Grimm, Terra Nova, Falling Skies, etc, etc, etc, so I'm in for the long haul. I do think they made a mistake killing off EVERYONE they were friendly with. The mom and daughter team, and Bobby especially.

What was Castiel's reason for tearing down Sam's wall in the season six finale? I can't for the life of me remember why he did it.

Sam tried to kill him when he was on his limbo fueled "new god" power trip

Don't like new Meg. The Meg from Family Guy would be better. Did enjoy the episode though. I liked having Cass back for a little bit and I like seeing Jacob off the island and trying to create a vampire war.
